Semua Bab On My Knees for my Best Friend's Father: Bab 11 - Bab 20

IVY I throw on my usual wear—a faded black t-shirt, denim shorts that have definitely seen better days, and my best pair of converses. Christmas fashion at its finest. In my defense, this is all I have, as you already know. I stare at myself in the mirror and try not to think about how badly I need this shopping trip. It’s been years since I bought new clothes. Literal years. Between tuition, helping with bills I thought I was paying, and just surviving, shopping for clothes, even thrift, was never in the budget. Not that the stress from work and life in general allowed me to gain any weight. My body’s the same as it was since I turned seventeen. When I’m done getting dressed, I don’t spend one more second looking at myself in the mirror. That's all I can do to not lose my sanity. I head downstairs and freeze at the bottom step. The house is suddenly crowded. There are staff in crisp black and white uniforms moving through the living room like synchronized dancers. I see one

IVY “Is that all you want, Ivy? No shoes or anything else?” Sierra asks as she examines me, seemingly oblivious of the heat in the room. “Yes,” I clear my throat and force a smile. “I’m more comfortable in faded jeans anyway.”It’s a bad joke, but she chuckles regardless. “Let’s go then. You can wear something of mine if we need any more dresses for you.”My fake smile spreads across my cheeks. “Of course.”The total comes up to $20,247.For dresses. That’s almost my entire yearly tuition. For fucking dresses.Knox doesn’t even blink as he hands over that matte black card like it’s money in fucking monopoly. How wealthy is he? Twenty thousand dollars could cover my spring semester, could help begin to pay off the debt Harold says I owe him.But instead, it’s buying dresses she’ll probably wear just once. I know I will. I should feel grateful.I should thank Knox.Instead, I say nothing.Back at the house, Sierra is basically a whirlwind. She’s everywhere at once as she direct

IVY I stumble through the sliding glass doors and the noise from the party outside cuts in half, but my heart is still pounding like I just ran a marathon. To be honest, all the grinding I did on Jonathan (that’s his name, right?) could pass as a marathon race. My panties are soaked through and clinging to me. I need to get upstairs before someone notices the wet spot that’s probably visible through this dress. The marble staircase feels endless, but I finally make it to the second floor, and I’m about to head straight to my room, but I can’t do that without passing Knox’s study. The room where he just stood and watched me dry fuck a horny adolescent boy like a thirsty girl. Those were his words, weren’t they?I heave a sigh, trying to calm all my rather raging nerves, and continue my journey to my room. But I can’t miss the fact that the door is slightly open. I definitely shouldn’t take a peek, but it’s impossible not to. With him, when it comes to him, I’m helpless, weak. Somet

IVY"Are you fucking kidding me?"These are the words that snatch me from dreamworld and plant me in the land of the living. I can't say I'm really excited about that.I open my eyes to find the sun, bright and harsh, staring back at me. Did I fall asleep outside last night?I must have wandered out here at some point, and collapsed onto one of the poolside loungers."Sierra, I need you to calm down."What's happening?I place my right hand over my eyes to shield them from the sunlight, and that's when I see them. Knox and Sierra standing by the edge of the pool. From my best friend’s stance, it appears they’re in the middle of some kind of squabble. I heave a tired sigh.Oh, Mr Reid, what did you do now? "Do not ask me to calm down!" Sierra sounds furious. "Mum isn't even gone yet, and you're already introducing me to my soon-to-be stepmum?"Stepmum.Stepmum? The word lands in my chest and knocks the air out of me. Last night, Knox had me pressed against his study window. Last night

IVYWhen his eyes travel back up my body, lingering on my hips, my waist, the neckline of my dress, heat floods my cheeks.I want to look away, but I can’t.Instead, I lean into Damien, let my fingers trail along his shoulder, tilt my head back to expose the column of my throat.Knox’s grip on Victoria visibly tightens. Even from here, I can see his knuckles go white.Damien says something, and I laugh though I don’t hear a word of it.My entire body is tuned to the man across the room, every nerve ending of mine is lit up and waiting.I watch as his thumb strokes absently across Victoria’s back, but his eyes never leave mine. The touch looks automatic and meaningless, but the way he’s looking at me is anything but.Silly me.Why am I even thinking about this?I tear my gaze away from them and focus on Damien. He’s the man who wants me. He doesn’t seem too far from my age, and he’s not my best friend’s father. We are a match made in heaven.Still, whatever possessed me the first time
