Anders POV "Form up." My voice carried across the clearing without me needing to raise it. Fifteen years of giving orders had taught me how to do that. The Ashfen wolves responded the way they always did — fast, quiet, no wasted movement. Within thirty seconds, all eleven of them were in front of me. I looked at their faces. Tired. Bloodied. Some of them were frightened, though none of them would say so. Good. Fear meant they were paying attention. "We have a window," I said. "Not a large one. I need you to listen to everything I'm about to tell you and I need you to ask questions now, not later." Brennan, my second, spoke first. "How long is the window?"
