His Rejected Mate: Her Cold Hearted Alpha のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 51 - チャプター 60

*Adele's point of view*The thoughts lingered in my mind longer than I expected. Then slowly and painfully, a realization began forming. Neither Demarion nor I had grown up with love. Not the kind of love people write about in stories. Not the kind that teaches you patience, trust, and warmth. We both literally grew up learning how to survive instead.I had spent my life yearning for love, dreaming of it and hping that one day I would find a mate who would give it to me freely.Demarion, on the other hand, had spent his entire life being taught that love was weakness, something dangerous and something that could destroy him.And when he finally found it, when he found me, he was just as afraid as I was. Maybe even more. He didn’t want to lose it but I didn’t want to ruin it either. I had been terrified that if I made the wrong move, I would break the fragile bond between us.And yet…Maybe he had tried to reach out to me after all. Maybe I had simply failed to see it. When he told me

*Adele's point of view*The next morning, the warmth of sunlight brushing against my face slowly pulled me from sleep. My eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the soft glow filtering through the window. For a moment, everything felt calm and peaceful. Then, a few minutes later, I heard movement. I turned my head slightly. Demarion stirred on the couch. He sat up slowly, his brows furrowed in confusion, like he had forgotten where he was. Then his eyes found me and he smiled. Just a small smile like he was still sleepy. But it was a genuine smile. And for a second, it made my chest feel lighter. He looked like he wanted to say something. His lips parted slightly, but before he could speak, the door suddenly opened. Diana walked in, balancing a tray of food."Good morning, Luna. Here is your—" She froze mid-step and her eyes widened. "Oh my! Alpha? What are you doing here?" she exclaimed, clearly startled.I couldn't help the small smile that tugged at my lips."He came to see me last nigh

*Demarion's point of view*My eyes stayed on Adele as she sat there quietly, her gaze lowered. She didn’t speak, didn’t move. Instead, she looked so deep in thought that it scared me.Because whatever was going on in her mind, I had a feeling it wasn’t good.I swallowed hard.I’m such an idiot. The thought hit me like a punch. All of this, everything that happened, it was because of me. I shut everyone out, drowned in my own head and in the process I hurt the one person I was supposed to protect. The one person I was supposed to love.My chest tightened painfully. I crossed the line with her more than once. Maybe coming here was a mistake. Maybe I should’ve stayed away. She hates me, she has to.My jaw clenched.Maybe I should just say it. Tell her to reject me. If she does, the bond will break and she’ll be free, free from me. I could pass the pack to Kade. He deserved it.He would be a better Alpha than I ever was. Stronger, more stable and more deserving. A bitter breath left my ch

*Adele's point of view*I couldn’t say anything. Not because I didn’t want to. But because I genuinely didn’t know what to say.How do you respond to something like that? How do you sit there, look at the man you love, and process the fact that the same hands that once hurt you had endured something so much worse? My chest felt tight. How could a father be that cruel?Mine was horrible and manipulative, twisted in his own disgusting ways. But this? This was something else entirely. Something darker, something that made my stomach churn in such a way that a small, bitter thought crossed my mind.If he were still alive, I would’ve killed him myself.“Say something.” Demarion’s quiet, almost desperate voice broke through my thoughts, quiet.I blinked, realizing how long I had been silent. My eyes lifted to his and I caught the hint of fear in his eyes, the kind that came from waiting to be judged. Waiting to be rejected. My heart squeezed painfully. I swallowed, forcing words out of my m

*Demarion's point of view*I was just beginning to drift off to sleep when Adele suddenly burst into my room. She closed the door behind her and locked it firmly, her eyes shining with an intense hunger. In just a few quick steps, she crossed the space and straddled me on the bed.I froze in place, whispering, “Adele? Babe, what are you doing?” She pressed her index finger gently against my lips, signaling me to be quiet.Slowly and deliberately, her hands traced over my bare chest, arousing me fully. As her touch moved lower, she bit her bottom lip, and I could feel myself hardening beneath her. I shook my head, trying to resist, and grasped her hands firmly.I wasn’t going to let this happen, not when she wasn’t thinking clearly. I recognized the heat she was going through, but deep down, I knew this wasn’t the Adele who would act so recklessly.Pouting, she leaned down like she was going to kiss me, but instead, she kissed the mark on my neck, barely grazing it just enough to make
