*Demarion's point of view*What in the heavens just happened?I stared at the door long after it closed behind her, like if I looked hard enough, she would walk back through it, like I could undo whatever just happened between us. My chest rose and fell slowly as I tried to make sense of it. One second she was there, so close to me, looking at me like...I dragged a hand down my face, exhaling sharply. Then she just ran. A part of me wanted to go after her, to bring her back, to tell her it was okay and that she didn’t have to be embarrassed about anything. And that she really didn't need to leave the room like that. But the other part of me, the part that was trying so hard not to ruin this again, told me to stay and give her space.Don’t push. Don’t rush things.I groaned quietly and leaned back against the bed, staring up at the ceiling.“Kade…” I muttered under my breath. “I’m going to kill him.”But even as I said it, I huffed a dry laugh. Because maybe… maybe he did me a favor.

*Adele's point of view*I lay in bed with the covers pulled over my head, wrapped tight like I could hide from my own thoughts. But it didn’t work. My mind refused to slow down. It spun wildly, dragging me through one question after another, each one louder than the last. What just happened? The question echoed over and over, making my chest tighten. And then another followed, one I wasn’t even brave enough to fully face. What would have happened if Kade hadn’t walked in?My heart jumped hard against my ribs at that thought. I squeezed my eyes shut, but it only made everything clearer. The truth sat heavy in my chest. I had started it. I had pushed things in that direction. I couldn’t even pretend otherwise. What was wrong with me?I groaned softly into my pillow, my fingers pressing against my temples as if I could push the thoughts out. I felt all over the place. Confused. Flustered. Curious in a way that made me uneasy. I didn’t even know if I had the courage to face him again. Hon

*Claire's point of view*“…Well, from what I’ve heard from my mate, Alpha Demarion is planning to take Adele on a date. That should be the perfect time for you to begin,” the voice on the phone said, calm and certain.A slow smile spread across my face.“Perfect,” I replied, my tone light but filled with intent. “Keep doing what you’re doing. I need to know exactly where he’s taking her.”“You got it,” my source answered without hesitation. The line went dead.I lowered the phone slowly, then tucked it away, my smile widening as my thoughts began to fall into place. Everything was starting to align just the way I wanted. I could already see it playing out in my head, step by step.If everything went according to plan, Adele would be gone. Completely gone. And Demarion…He would be left broken, vulnerable and grieving. That was when I would step in. I would be there to pick up the pieces, to comfort him, to slowly rebuild what he had lost. I would make him need me. Make him trust me.M

*Adele's point of view* "I... um... no. I just need some space right now, Demarion." I said quietly, my voice barely calm. For a moment, his smile slipped. It was small, but I saw it. The light in his eyes dimmed just a little, like a candle flickering in a sudden breeze."Oh... okay. I understand," he replied, though the cheer in his tone felt thinner now. "If you change your mind, you know where to find me."Before I could say anything else, he leaned in and pressed a soft kiss against my cheek. His lips were warm and gentle. Then he turned and walked away, leaving behind a silence that felt heavier than it should have.I closed the door slowly, the soft click echoing in the room. A long breath slipped out of me as I rested my back against the wood. The cool surface pressed through my shirt, grounding me for a second.I glanced at my bed. It looked so far away, even though it was only a few steps. My legs felt weak, like they might give out if I tried to walk.So I did not.Instead

*Adele's point of view*I looked up again, meeting her gaze for a brief second before looking away.“Excuse me if I want time to put myself back together. To rebuild whatever is left of me.” My hands rested loosely in my lap now, no strength left in them. “Because the truth is, Serenity… I am broken.”The word felt simple, but it carried the weight of everything I wished to express.“And even if I manage to stand on my own again… even if I become strong and independent…” I let out a faint, hollow breath. “I do not think I will ever be the Adele you chose. The one you thought could be Luna.”I paused, my throat tightening again.“For once… I think you made a mistake.” My voice dropped to almost a whisper. “I am just a broken hearted… and a damaged soul that needs fixing.”I turned my gaze back to the horizon, the wide stretch of land blurring slightly as more tears gathered in my eyes.“Unless… you always planned for a broken Luna,” I added quietly. “Then maybe… this is exactly what yo
