Semua Bab THE DEVIL'S DUE: Bab 211 - Bab 220

Rhys took his sweet time coming down the flight of stairs from the roof. With his hand firmly tucked into his pockets, and his chest puffed out like he owned the world, he crossed over the last step.“To what do I owe this surprise appearance?" He asked, coming to a stop just before Luca.“Where is she?” Luca shot straight to the point.“There are many she's, Diavolo. You kinda have to be a little more specific.” He gestured with his finger.“Yeah, because I'm right here. Why are you asking for another woman?” Olivia butted in.Luca pretended not to hear a word from her, his eyes focused on Rhys.“For the second time, where is she?” He asked again, maintaining a calm tone despite the heat rising inside of him.“And for the second time, I'll need you to specify who you're talking about,” Rhys replied arrogantly, whilst maintaining eye contact with him.Luca swung fist first before he could hold himself back. His right hook caught the nose of Rhys, splitting it open the instant it conne

MIAI laid upside down on the bed, with my head facing the ceiling. My thoughts conjured up things that were possibly happening at the moment in the castle.Did they know now that I was missing? If they did, what would their reactions be?Ava I know was very emotional. She would beat herself up for not being able to protect me, and cry her heart out.My own heart squeezed at that image playing in my head. She was so fragile, I didn't want her worrying too much about me for fear that would affect her health.Maybe Peach would help comfort her. Yes, Peach was emotionally strong.Sure she could at times be a bit erratic, but she knew when it was time to lock in.Still, if there was any reason at all I wanted to leave this place, it was for the sake of my sister, and her health.“And Luca.”My breath caught, as my heart skipped a beat.I could see his face now. That coldness that clouded it when he was in a ruthless state.Would he be in a ruthless state knowing I was missing? Considering

“Drive to the bayou at Southsun,” agent Santos instructed Luca.He gave her the side eye, but didn't say anything in protest.Although his plans had been derailed, he decided to just see whatever this was to the end.“Where were you even headed with such speed? You really do think you're bigger than the laws, don't you?” She questioned, trying to strike small conversations.Luca didn't care enough to converse with her, so he just kept his eyes on the road, and completely ignored her.She smiled when she realized he was shutting her off. “You must think I'm really a big pest. You don't like me much, do you? I could have sworn the first time we met, you thought I was cool. Maybe because you thought I would be an ally. Hate to bring you bad news, but I'm an agent. I can't–”His hand reached for the dashboard, and he quickly turned the music all the way up.The sound instantly drowned her voice, causing agent Santos to chuckle.“Yeah, he hates me,” she muttered to herself, and turned to t

MIAIn my darkest hour, when I thought I would be bulldozed by the powerful force of the raging bull, came a shining light.Camilla! She began to blast out in Italian, and with every phrase I didn't understand that flew out of her lips, Carlo's glare diminished.Soon, he was nothing but a tiny, sulking ant.No one could tell me anything different at that moment. Camilla was simply a miracle worker!“Sì Mama,” he said, and walked out of the room. Now I didn't know Italian that well, but sì definitely meant yes.I could kiss the ground Camilla walked on in that moment. She was my Goddess at that very moment. My saviour in every which way.“Are you okay, ragazza?” She shifted her gaze to me.The pillow I was holding dropped out of my hand, and I breathed out in relief. “I'm fine now.”She nodded once, and walked out of the room, leaving me alone with Pedro.“Uhmm, what exactly was it you were talking about earlier? You're transferring me elsewhere?” I found my voice.“Yes I am,” he repli

MIAI was able to keep down breakfast, and for that, I was truly grateful to Camilla. After I was done eating, I tried to see if I could take away the tray myself. It was secretly a way for me to test the possibility of an escape. But as I turned the door knob, the door did not budge. With a sigh of defeat, I turned around with the tray clutched to my hand, and returned back to the bed. I plopped on the bed, and let out a sigh. The feeling of loneliness was slowly creeping up on me again.“Help me,” I whispered to no one in particular.Help wasn't sure to come, but a girl could try, right? My body grew weary from the burden in my heart, and I laid down to rest a little. The little rest I aimed for, turned into a quick nap.It was a while later my body jolted up on feeling some dark energy hovering around. My eyes flew open, and I sat up, just to find a pair of eyes staring at me.“Oh God!” I clutched pearls, my breath sharpening.“No, it's just me. It's me, Emilio,” he said, and thre
