Alpha Fauz's POV Good morning, GrandLuna, I greeted as I walked in.“You are welcome, Alpha Fauz,” my mother responded as I made my way around the table. My gaze remained on Nora. She didn't wear Luna's attire, but a warm blue short gown that slightly clung to her body, brushing over her contours. She is the mother of the Pack, how could she wear such a body revealing dress? I fumed, but couldn't say a word. She continued speaking with my mother in low tone, laughing and smiling brightly like she was having the best moments of her life.Just like Gaius had said, she is simply doing fine. I was concerned for nothing. My blood boiled and I clenched my fists.Grand Luna noticed my stillness, and shot me a look.“Yes, I invited her for breakfast as well… Do I need your permission to do that?” Mother said smoothly, looking squarely at me.I didn't respond. My gaze lingered on Nora. There was no sign of defiance in her, only restraint, and something about it irritated me, or pained me. I c

Alpha Fauz’d POV I entered the Grand Luna's dining hall amidst servants' greetings. I could feel the eagerness and liveliness. They must have learnt about the competition and were eagerly waiting for the results.Everyone knew about Becca's extraordinary culinary skills. Making Nora cook in her place was already a competition even if the two didn't compete directly.Well, I was at the kitchen, I saw Nora cook, but I didn't expect much, I had only checked on her out of curiosity. As I walked in, the table was already set. The aroma wafted into my nose. It was rich, inviting and delicious. I felt my palate open, I was salivating. A servant pushed out my seat, holding it steadily for me. My mother was already seated. I greeted her and licked the roof of my mouth as I took my seat.My gaze glided over the steaming meal already served on the table, it took a lot of restraint to look away.I shiftedy gaze and settled on Nora. She stood near the head of the table. She had changed her dre

Nora’s POV“That was a great meal. I didn't know you are good in the kitchen,” Becca said as soon as we were out of the GrandLuna’s chambers.I shrugged. “Not big deal, cooking is my hobby.”“Ehn… hope you aren't offended about what I said during dinner. I shouldn't have ran my mouth.” She diverted.“Well you saved the day. We are newlyweds, I can't be pregnant already,” I responded uneasily.“But, my Luna, is that the real reason? My Alpha has never visited your chambers and you never visited his,” her tone dripped mockery.“What?” “I am sorry. It's a slip of tongue,” her eyes twinkled like she was enjoying my misery. She quickly added, “why didn't you eat well? You were picking at your meal… that was why GrandLuna thought you were pregnant… Or is the meal not to your liking?“Why would you say that?” I responded calmly. “The food was perfect. I wasn't just in the mood.”A dark glow cut across her face, but vanished in an instance. That was it. It seemed my first impression of her w

Nora's POVThe knock came again, and I pushed myself upright slowly.“Enter.”Rya stepped in first, bowing, and behind her stood one of the Grand Luna’s personal maids holding a folded parchment sealed with the royal crest. My pulse quickened.“A response from Her Highness,” the maid announced with a bow.Rya collected it and handed it to me. The wax seal was still warm beneath my fingers.I broke it carefully and scanned the brief message.Permission granted. You may access the royal kitchens at dawn. Discretion is advised.A rush of relief and excitement fluttered through me, though I kept my expression composed in front of the maids. This was not rebellion. Permission was granted, it was sanctioned.I folded the parchment and dismissed them. When the door closed, silence returned.I lay back, but sleep would not come. Anticipation filled me instead. I imagined his expression after the first bite, the brief pause before he realized what he was tasting. Becca cooked well, so perhaps

Nora’s POVThe door had barely closed behind me when my courage dissolved. His grim voice, and the storm that belied His seemingly calm eyes had me reeling.I stood still for a moment, listening, as though the walls themselves might whisper what he was doing. Is he staring at the tray? Will he call a guard to throw it away? Or will he taste it?My shoulders sagged as I walked slowly back into my chamber. I had put in much effort into making his favourite dish, and this was all I got. The first person that greeted me was Rya, looking wild.“My Luna! Where have you been? You are not permitted to leave your chambers. How on earth did you slip out unnoticed?” She lamented.I didn't share the content of the letter I sent to the grandLuna with her and I didn't share the GrandLuna's response as well. I owe her no explanation. Our gazes locked, but I brushed past her without breathing a word. I walked into the bedroom and sat at the edge of the bed. My fingers twisted in the fabric of my g
