Lahat ng Kabanata ng I Took the Fall, He Took His Life: Kabanata 1 - Kabanata 9

At exactly 8:00 am, there was a knock on the door.Standing outside were two Soldati, their expressions cold and hard, here to escort me to court to plead guilty. The Timoteo who once promised to protect me for life wouldn't even see me one last time.As I walked through the living room, I saw Nadia curled up in his arms, feeding him cake.He never touched sweets, yet he ate them with a smile—a smile so genuine it reached his eyes.I had never seen Timoteo so gentle.I lowered my eyes, fighting to suppress the emotions threatening to rise inside me.It was my fault. I should've realized my place long ago. I was just a blade Timoteo had forged, nothing more. The nights we spent together were just a matter of mutual need. Those words that made my heart race were just fleeting moments of his affection, nothing deeper.…The courtroom was colder than I had imagined.I was led to the defendant's stand. The cold steel of the handcuffs bit into my wrists, the hard metal chafing my

The moment I saw the sniper's scope aimed at Timoteo, I threw myself forward without thinking. The force of the impact sent me flying, crashing into Timoteo's arms.I could hear my own breath, heavy and ragged in my chest. Every lungful of air tasted like blood.Timoteo's body stiffened at once."Fina?"His arm instinctively tightened around me, trying to catch my slipping form. The pain was so intense that the world blurred before my eyes, but I struggled to raise my head and look at his face.I had known this face for 12 years and loved it for just as long. Today, I finally let go for good.Timoteo's pupils dilated in shock, and his arm holding me shook uncontrollably. His Adam's apple bobbed, as if he wanted to say something."Timoteo, help me!" Nadia, tear-streaked and trembling, looked at him desperately. His body tensed, and his eyes flashed with a painful conflict. One was me—the one who had been by his side for 12 years. The other was Nadia—the first love he had once

I woke up in an unfamiliar clinic. The moment my vision cleared, I saw a familiar face—Asterio Salce. That was Nadia's fiance whom she had killed."You saved me?" I asked.Asterio didn't answer. Instead, he slowly ran his fingers over my necklace."An imposter is enjoying the life of an heiress, while the real heiress willingly plays the blade for the Panno family. Serafina Liberi, have you never thought about finding your biological parents all these years?"I frowned, sensing the underlying meaning in his words. "What do you mean?"Asterio pressed his lips together. "12 years ago, the daughter of the Bellucci family—the pharmaceutical giants—went missing after a shipwreck at sea. Half a month later, a girl appeared in the public eye claiming to be her."Even though the Belluccis knew she wasn't their daughter, the internal power struggles within Bellucci Pharmaceutical were so severe that they were forced to claim her as their own to stabilize their position."I bit my lip. "

Nadia screamed, losing all composure. "That's a lie! She's a fraud! I'm the real heiress to the Bellucci family! Serafina, you've always been an orphan. Timoteo found you on the streets. Have you forgotten how you begged him not to leave you?"I remained unmoved. Those words might've stung once, but I'd died and come back. Nadia's feeble attacks held no power over me now."You've used my name, lived in my house, and enjoyed everything that was supposed to be mine for 12 years. It's time to return it all."Nadia trembled, her pupils shaking."Twelve years ago, the Bellucci family's cruise ship sank. When I woke up, all I had left was a necklace. You took everything that proved my identity, didn't you?"I slowly unraveled the past. Each word I spoke made Nadia's face grow paler.Around us, murmurs filled the air.Nadia spiraled into a total panic. She shot a look of pure desperation at Timoteo. "No! You're lying! You bitch!""Lying?" I scoffed."Why don't you think for a second
