‎‎Silas Crowley‎‎I didn't sleep that night.‎Instead, I sat in my office on the top floor of my building, overlooking the city, and I thought about Sarah Bennett.‎The kiss had been planned, every fucking moment of it and I'd known she would respond.‎I'd studied her long enough to understand how her mind worked. She was smart and brilliant and underneath all of that, she was starving for someone who wouldn't be intimidated by her. Someone who wouldn't apologize for wanting her.‎So I'd given her exactly what she needed and she'd signed the proposal.‎I pulled up the contract on my computer and reviewed the signature one more time. Sarah Bennett. The signature of a woman who was furious with herself for wanting me.‎Perfect.‎My secretary had sent me a detailed report on her finances an hour after the meeting.‎Bennett & Associates was thriving, her personal wealth was significant. She understood how to build and maintain wealth and now, forty-nine percent of her company was mine.

‎Sarah‎His office was just as I imagined, simple, expensive and powerful.‎He closed the door behind me, and my heart started beating faster.‎"You don't have to be scared," he said with a wicked smile.‎"I'm just been cautious," I said.‎"You're scared of me," he said. He walked to his desk and leaned against it casually. "And more than that, you're scared of yourself. Scared of what you feel when you're near me."‎"This is unprofessional," I said.‎"We are past professionalism," he said. "You know that. I know that. Why keep pretending?"‎"Because we have a business relationship," I said.‎"We have many kinds of relationships," he said. His voice went lower. "Business, money and something else. Something that has nothing to do with business and everything to do with how you responded to me in that restaurant."‎"That was a mistake," I said.‎"Was it?" he asked. He walked toward me slowly. "Because from where I'm standing, it looked like the smartest thing you've done since we met.

‎‎Victoria‎‎I was on my third glass of wine by the time Marcus got home.‎The apartment was dark. I sat on the couch in the shadows, watching the city lights flash below, and I drank.‎That bitch.‎That fucking bitch had done it again. She'd taken something that wasn't hers. She'd seen something she wanted and claimed it without hesitation.‎Except this time, it wasn't a company. It was Silas Crowley.‎I poured another glass and drank it in one long gulp, trying to wash away the taste of my own failure.‎He was beautiful. God, he was so fucking beautiful. The way he'd walked into that conference room like he owned the place. The way his suit had fit him like it was molded to his body. The way his voice had commanded attention without him even trying.‎That man had power. Real power. The kind of power that made you want to kneel in front of him. The kind of power that made you want to feel his hands on your body, pushing you down, taking what he wanted.‎I closed my eyes and imagine

‎‎Silas Crowley‎‎The morning started like any other morning.‎I arrived at my office at 6 AM and spent the first two hours reviewing financial reports and documents. Crowley Holdings had expanded into three new markets in the last three months. The profits were better than I expected. Everything was operating exactly as I'd planned.‎By 9 AM, I was in a board meeting with the senior leadership team. We discussed quarterly earnings. We reviewed investment portfolios and market trends. It was all my normal business routine. ‎At noon, I had lunch with Richard, an elderly business partner who'd been in the industry longer than I'd been alive.‎"You're looking well," he said as we sat down at an exclusive restaurant. "More relaxed than usual. There must be a woman involved."‎I smiled and took a sip of my wine.‎"What makes you say that?" I asked.‎"I've known you for twenty years, Silas," Richard said. "I know when something's changed and something's changed. You have that look of a

‎‎Silas Crowley‎‎Marcus Richardson arrived at the restaurant at exactly 8 PM.‎I watched him from my private booth as he walked through the restaurant. He looked like a man walking to his death. His hands were shaking, his face was pale. His entire body screamed desperation.‎‎He spotted me and made his way over, trying to compose himself but failing miserably. He sat down across from me without being invited.‎"Thank you for meeting with me," he said. His voice was hoarse.‎"I'm intrigued," I said, studying him carefully. "But I have limited patience, Mr. Richardson. So I suggest you get to the point quickly."‎Marcus picked up his water glass with trembling hands and drank from it.‎"I want to help you," he said finally.‎"Help me with what?" I asked, already knowing this was going to be entertaining.‎"With Sarah," Marcus said. He leaned forward slightly. "I want to give you information that will help you... manage your partnership with her."‎I felt a smile tugging at the corn
