Lahat ng Kabanata ng Alpha’s Blood Mate: Kabanata 151 - Kabanata 160

I drove for the first hour, but my nerves were completely fried. Once we got past New Brunswick, I had to hand the keys over to Valerian and let him take the wheel. All I could focus on was the time slipping away. The full moon was closing in fast. What if the royals had already gotten whatever they wanted from Lyanna? I tried not to let my mind linger there too long. Luckily, the guys chatting kept me from sinking too far into my own head.“Seriously, man. It’s not happening,” Valerian said.Marcus chuckled and shook his head. “I’m telling you. ‘Bama’s taking Natty again. Sure, Florida might make it to the SEC Championship, but my Tide are gonna steamroll you guys. Same as always.”Valerian groaned and rolled his eyes. “You people. One day that cockiness is gonna bite you. You can’t stay on top forever.”Darren cracked up. “True! But until then? Roll tide, roll!”“Oh god, I’m gonna be sick. Maybe I should just stick to soccer,” Valerian muttered.“How much farther?” I asked, cutting

As the jet began its descent toward the runway, I could already feel the moon tugging at me. I glanced out the window as the wheels touched down. The pale white sphere hung overhead. It was only one day until the super moon, but its influence was already seeping into my bones. The plan called for Valerian to join one of the regular tours first thing tomorrow morning. We were hoping he might spot a potential spot where the vault could be hidden, or even figure out where they were keeping Lyanna. It was a lousy plan, honestly, but it was all we had. At this stage, we were grasping at anything. The jet rolled to a stop, and the pilot stepped out to open the door and extend the stairs. As he did, he nodded toward a big, heavy black case positioned right behind the cockpit. “Donatello wanted you all to have this. He figured it might come in handy for whatever you’re up to.”Valerian and I exchanged identical looks of confusion. There hadn’t been any mention of a case or extra gear in our a

The moon pulled at me hard. It felt like a thousand fishhooks embedded in my skin, all yanking me upward toward the sky. Every day closer to the full moon ramped up the sensation until I thought I might actually lose my mind. My skin felt stretched tight and itchy. I could almost convince myself my wolf was right there, pressing just beneath the surface, ready to burst free. God, I wished she would. Then I’d finally have some way to fight back. Right now, I’d have killed for a huge, terrifying werewolf form to turn on my captors. But beyond the anxiety, the irritation, and the constant ache, she gave me nothing. So I had to grit my teeth, stay sharp, and keep my head straight. There were no windows in my cell, but even lying on the cot, I could still feel that relentless tug. That wasn’t the only reason sleep wouldn’t come, though. My eyes stayed open, fixed on the dark ceiling while worry churned inside me. For once, it wasn’t about myself. My thoughts kept circling back to the woman

My body felt like it was ripping itself to pieces. That’s the only way to describe it. All I could do was thrash around on the cot and then collapse onto the floor. The pain was so intense I couldn’t even force out a scream. I lay there, sweat pouring off me, teeth grinding together, fists clenched tight, shaking like I was caught in a full-body seizure. My wolf was right there with me, snarling, furious. Her anger fused with mine until I couldn’t tell where hers ended and mine began. The moon loomed above us like some evil force, trying to tear the shift out of me by brute strength. I could almost picture pale white claws reaching down from the sky, sinking into my chest, seizing my wolf, and yanking her free. The agony got so bad I managed to drag myself up onto my knees, desperate to reach the toilet before my stomach rebelled. I didn’t make it. I twisted just enough to vomit onto the floor. A second later, the cell door flew open.“What the hell is wrong with you?” the guard barke

The power. Holy shit, the power surging through the air. It was Lyanna. I knew it instantly. The second I slipped into the tunnels, I felt her. I’d come in through the church overhead, it had way less security than the main royal estate, plus it sat right above where the vault had to be. I shifted and tore down the hallway, drawn straight toward that raw energy, toward Lyanna’s scent, toward the screams echoing off the stone.Closer in, three men bolted past me, sprinting for an exit. The pure terror carved across their faces lit a spark of hope in my chest. If I’d been human right then, I’d have been grinning ear to ear. I rounded the last corner and skidded to a halt inside the chamber doorway, stunned by what I saw.I’d braced myself for a raging werewolf. Instead, Lyanna had shifted into a regular wolf, and she was enormous. Bigger than me, and in wolf form I was already massive. She stood a full head taller, sleek and breathtaking. Her fur matched her hair exactly, deep, dark red
