Lahat ng Kabanata ng Alpha’s Blood Mate: Kabanata 1 - Kabanata 10

Mira was across the bar, lowering chairs from the tops of tables. Since it was Friday, I appreciated the extra help getting everything ready for the evening crowd. Doing it alone would’ve taken me at least an hour. “Hey, Lyanna? Do you want these tables spaced out more?” Mira asked. I paused while cleaning the bar and looked over at her. “No, you can keep them where they are. It’ll be fine.” “Alright.” She turned the final chair upright, placed it properly, and slid it under the table. I had moved behind the bar to begin polishing wine glasses when she walked over and slapped her palms against the counter. “Holy shit, did I tell you I got my results back?” she asked. I froze halfway through polishing and lifted an eyebrow at her. “Results? What kind? STD? Pregnancy? SAT? What are we talking about?” She rolled her eyes. “Don’t be a jerk. No, the DNA ancestry test I sent in a few weeks ago. You remember, right?” I did remember. What stood out most was how she nearly hypervent

It was another hectic night, and I’d stepped in to help behind the bar since our usual two bartenders were struggling to keep up. It was actually good for me. It kept me sharp when it came to cocktails and wine, and owning a bar without staying informed wasn’t exactly ideal.I was passing a couple of college guys their beers when Mira nudged me and tipped her chin toward the entrance. “We’ve got a group of shifters coming in.”I looked up and spotted the men she meant. You could always tell shifters apart from humans. There was just…something about them. I couldn’t quite put it into words, but it was obvious. I wasn’t like some people who had an issue with them. I’d never had any problems with shifters, and they were always welcome in my bar. All they ever wanted was good food and decent drinks, both things I was happy to provide.I nodded. “Yeah, I see them.”The guys, about six of them made their way through the bar toward an empty table near the jukebox. One of them glanced my way

I reached out and gently took her hand. “You and your friend are beautiful. I’m just not interested in that kind of fun tonight, ladies.”I turned them down as kindly as I could, but they still looked disappointed and walked away without saying anything else. It could’ve gone a lot worse, they might’ve caused a scene, called me a jerk, or dumped a drink on me. Instead, I just felt a little guilty; it was obvious they’d spent a good amount of time building up the nerve to make that offer. Too bad they hadn’t gone up to Rowan instead. If they had, the night would’ve ended right there. He’d have insisted on heading home to thoroughly indulge himself. I probably would’ve been in bed before midnight.Rowan shook his head and stared at me like I’d lost my mind. “Dude? You seriously just passed up a night of sexual greatness most guys would sacrifice their left nut for.”“Yeah, yeah, I get it. Boobs good, no boobs bad. Can we move on now?”Once the tab was paid, Rowan announced that our next

When I opened my eyes, all I could see at first was a huge pale blur. I blinked a few times, and my sight gradually sharpened until I realized I was staring at a ceiling. My entire body felt weighed down, like a soaked, heavy blanket was pressing me into the mattress. My head was foggy in a way that wasn’t normal for me. I was usually a morning person, but it felt like my brain was struggling to rise out of deep water.Even so, I was relieved to be awake. The dream I’d just had was something I never wanted to relive—those strange shifters beating me senseless. Why would I dream about something that messed up?Then my thoughts came to a sudden stop. The ceiling wasn’t right. It was smooth, cream-colored drywall. At home, I had horrible, bright white popcorn ceilings. I’d been meaning to scrape them off for over a year but never got around to it. My pulse shot up the instant I understood I wasn’t in my house. Where the hell was I?I tried to lift my arms and realized they weren’t pinned

The wolf inside me burst with hunger. It felt more territorial than it ever had before. I had to struggle to stay composed as I entered the room. I could almost sense my pupils widening the moment my eyes settled on her. It was the first time I’d seen her conscious. Her eyes widened too, which I took as a shock. I clenched my jaw when my wolf tried to let out a low growl of longing.Doc stepped forward and placed a hand on my arm, halting me. “Easy, Leo. She’s been through enough. The last thing she needs is an alpha frightening her,” he said, smiling.I knew he was aiming for a relaxed tone, but something flickered in his eyes. I must have looked off. The expression on his face told me I was probably giving off an air of threat or fury. The thing was, that wasn’t what I was feeling at all. I honestly didn’t understand what had taken hold of me from the moment I saw her.I swallowed, inhaled deeply, and nodded. Scaring her wasn’t my intention.Silently, I reprimanded my wolf, then gav
