Chapter 61Ariella's POV I don't know why I agreed to take things slowly with Lucien. I know deep down that we would never work out.I liked him but what I felt for Ethan was more. The two of them are very different. Lucien is possessive, a little bit controlling and I hate to say but to me, it felt like he was toxic.I wish I could see something else except that in him but I couldn't. But Ethan, he was different. I have never seen him being possessive or controlling.Maybe those are due to the fact that he doesn't like me. But I do, I like him a lot. A lot more than I like Lucien. The signs are there, when I kissed Lucien I didn't feel any electricity jolt through my spine. But it was there when I kissed Ethan, and even some times whenever we touched unintentionally It happens as well. Too bad he doesn't like me and only thinks of me as his student who he is supposed to train to be able to use her powers to fight off her bullies. The words he said that day, three days ago, were stil

Chapter 63Ariella's POV "Did you see that? Her eyes turned silver and suddenly the creatures started falling to the ground." "I saw it too, I thought I was hallucinating or something." "How did that even happen? Is that some kind of weird power or something?" "With powers like that, she should probably be killed before she screams and kills all of us in the village.""You are right, I wonder what will become of her now."Murmurs erupted through the hall. I glanced around, the weird gazes they were giving me wasn't something I had expected. After I saved them even if I didn't know how I did that. They continued murmuring and won't stop looking at me weirdly."Why are they looking at me that way?" I asked myself under my breath, about to move from my spot and see if Ethan was okay."Did she...""She just talked?" I heard someone whisper and I looked at the person confused, wondering what they were talking about."Didn't you just hear her speak? Could it be that she knew how to talk

Chapter 65Ariella's POV I jumped off the floor as I heard the rapid footsteps coming towards the cell. "Get her out of there." Beta Riel ordered. A guard opened the cell and I was dragged out of the prison."Where are you taking me?" I demanded but got no response from them. "I asked a question, where are you taking me and why am I getting dragged when I can perfectly walk on my own.""Ask the Alpha that, when you get to where you are going." Beta Riel sneered. "Hurry up boys, they are waiting for us."Who is waiting? I was dropped to the ground as we got to the pack compound. Right in front of father, mother and other people. Some I recognized from the council, the others I don't recognize from anywhere.I didn't think this was this serious that a lot of dignitaries would be sitting and willing to judge. Mother didn't even seem like she cared much, but I could tell she was excited to be sitting there. She wants to know the judgement that would be passed on to me."Here she is, A

Chapter 67Ariella's POV I have spent two days In here already and I still haven't been able to come up with a way to escape. I have thought about literally everything but still can't come up with anything. The door opened and in comes the guard with a plate of food. He dropped it on the bed and left without saying any word to me.That's basically how I tell the time. The food he just brought is meant to be my dinner and they only bring me food twice in a day.Morning and evening. I can't tell by myself because the window is covered and the room is very dark. So it's really hard to differentiate morning from evening without the food.Lucien has been communicating with me through the mind link. Apparently, father released him on that very day and he preached to him about how bad it is that he is in love with me.I scolded him as well, told him he shouldn't have said anything about loving me or being my mate. After that, we settled our differences and I got him to help me check up on E

Chapter 69Ariella's POV "He was the only one who ever showed me affection, kindness and because of him I got to experience what true friendship should feel like." "That was why I grew obsessed with him. You can imagine how I felt when he started following you around and had less time for me. That's why I did all of that to you, I didn't want to lose the only friend I had.""I saw you as a threat and If I didn't get you out of the way, I would lose him. I was super obsessed with him but I wasn't in love with him. But still, I didn't want him to end up with a mute, who couldn't even defend herself.""I felt like he needed someone who could match his energy and he could always lean on." She explained.Oh, I understand now. The whole possessive of a thing. I wouldn't use that approach if I was in her shoes though but I understood her."Sorry, I didn't know. And trust me, I wasn't trying to steal your friend. I never intended to, it's just that he wouldn't let me be even when I asked."
