Chapter fifteenLilianaFor the next couple of days, Gerald was nowhere to be found.At first, I thought he was simply busy, but then even during breakfast, he'd only come down and leave before I was able to talk to him about anything.Even when he wasn't busy, he'd excuse himself from my presence like I was a plague of some sort.I still wasn't allowed out of the pack house. Chapter 16Liliana"Sit," he said coldly. I thought he was going to be softer today.Gerald sat at the head of the table. One of the maids rushed to his side and started to serve him.He didn't look at me. Chapter seventeenLilianaI stepped out of the room and came face-to-face with Landen.Gerald's Beta.The impossibly tall bastard.I had only interacted with him twice.Once on the night he was supposed to kill me and when he'd dragged me into the room on my first day here.I made sure to mostly stay away from him.He was scary, almost as scary as Gerald.He also hated me. Chapter eighteenLiliana.I sat in the living room watching as all of Gerald's eight henchmen got ready for their mission.Ever since I found out about their little mission, I had done everything to keep a low profile and also try to find as much information as I could on where they were going.I didn't succeed in that regard but I did find out how long the mission was meant to last.It was only for three days. Which meant, I had to leave exactly three hours after they finally left. That was all the window I had. I wasn't going to waste it like I had before. I'd mapped out every possible exit-hell, even bribed one of the maids just in case.
