Chapter Twenty -one

Kayla “Riley what's the best chances of having Logan Vaughn have a conversation with me,I need to talk to him”Riley looked up from her computer as I stood up.Well I'm just about to have lunch and I figured out I might need some fresh air and maybe go to a restaurant to eat out.“Logan Vaughn doesn't just meet with anyone at any time and I've got nothing to reach him with”Riley rolled her chair to face me directly.“Should I advise you as a good personal assistant?”she grinned.Nahhhh, I'd rather pass.“You've been my personal assistant for long Riley, long enough for me to know that you ain't gonna say something that would benefit me “She grimaced. Her eyes rolling “Well,I got you Rick “That's one of the reasons I can't let her help me.Rick is starting to be my distraction, I'd think of him every single idle time I get and reminisce about the places he's had sex with me before.“i’m still trying to sort things out with Rick and I don't know…I just hope this goes well “I stood

Chapter Twenty -two

RyderKayla has something definitely going on in her life, the fact I don't know how to pinpoint it makes it a lot harder for me.She came inside after a long while of me staying inside. She sat opposite me,no talk, just silence that said a lot.She smelled of alcohol, like she'd drunk herself away..“Did you drink Kayla?"I asked her after a long while. She smiled.“Only a little you won't tell..”“But I did, that's why I asked you”She kept quiet, hiccuping at time Interval “Is something bothering you? you don't look good”I tried touching her forehead to check her temperature but she stopped me with her hands.“I'm fine Rick,I just want something that'd take my mind off this whole thing going on in my head,no one likes me, I've got a lot of enemies that I don't even know exist. My Dad is so angry with me and now I'm stuck between making the Moreno enterprise right or I stand a chance to lose it in every possible way “She sighed.“I'm sorry I'm feeding you with all these I just don't

Chapter Twenty -three

Kayla Everything just sounds so surreal for me,the fact that I didn't tell anyone about this makes it a lot harder for me.I've been thriving for a long time to take the Moreno enterprise to the top, but a single shot from someone I don't even know had all my hard work going down the drain.“You sure you're alright Kayla?”Noah have been sitting opposite me for the past hour while I let myself get lost in my thoughtsHe brought me to a place where I was isolated from the world,a place where I could cry my eyes out in abandon but sadly I had it all tucked in my heart. If I was at the office right now I could swear that I've totally lost it by now..I'm kind of feeling bad that I left Riley alone but I need some space to take this in.I can't just seem to wrap my hand round my misfortune.“I am…it's just so hard to take in that one more flying news online my dad's company would go down the drain”My tears were trying to fight their way out but I was just trying hard to hold it in.“It

Chapter Twenty - four

Author Are you free tonight?”We should go out on a date," Liana told someone on the phone as she sipped her soda directly from its can.Her face slowly changed as her lips curled up into a smile. She got the affirmation she needed.“It's settled then, I'd see you by the end of the day let's say 7:00pm?" She stood up from her chair, her fluffy slippers making soft noises on the tiled floor.“i’d see you by seven then”she ended the call as she stared at the phone.“Now someone has to get ready by six,"she said excitedly. She went to the kitchen trashing the can of empty soda in the waste bin. The house was extremely void of life, it was only her at home and most times she tried to act like she was alone. Her father won't be coming back from the hospital anytime soon and he knew that. The cook staying with her most of the time was already gone for leave and it's already time for the summer break soooo…." I'm gonna party till the sunrise”she danced entering her room. She sat on her be

Chapter Twenty -five

Liana I could feel my hands shaking at this rate, the papers and pictures on my hands felt from the feeble touch that held it.I couldn't feel my body anymore, suddenly the gown I wore became tighter and way more breath choking for me.I'm the illegitimate daughter of the Moreno family.I was born by some poor woman and as a result of mistakes,I was never put into thoughts. This must be a lie, this must be some fucking prank dad or anyone is playing at me.But no …If this picture is real then all my life has been a lie,all the things I thought were rightfully mine were Kayla's all along. No!!That can't be!!It can't be!!!The Moreno family is mine…. I'm not a filthy child born by mistake.I shook my head in disapproval. With both shock and disbelief I picked up the picture and stared at it again. It really is me!!No!!I pushed the table aggressively and suddenly everything on the floor was spoiled. Why would Dad do that to me?Why would he put me in such a tight spot and give me su

Chapter Twenty -six

KaylaThe company hasn't been going well but I've been trying to keep it aloof .At least if I'm able to keep up with my pace I could turn the Moreno enterprise to what it has initially been.Everyone has been helpful to me, Noah, Riley, everyone and today my little sister called. And even the almighty Ryder who feels much of himself called once or maybe more than twice at times to find out about what's going on.Jaden would be feeling on top of the world right now, he's got everything right under his control, except me!I'm no longer under his hold any longer. The fame his family had always wanted was with them now and they loved it.The media and broadcasters can't stop asking me what went wrong. What can I possibly say?I've gotten a hold of myself now.I can do this.I've got to stay strong.I've yet to see Logan Vaughn ever since that incident but I hope to see him soon.I really hope everything will be alright. I can't let them down. And yeah..Today is the last night I get to sp

Chapter Twenty -Seven

Kayla It's been two weeks since I found out that Rick has been Ryder all along. Two weeks to find out that I have been having an affair the whole time not with a stranger or a call boy but my partner in business.I feel so disappointed at myself but I also feel disappointed that Riley knows about this the whole time.In fact I've found out a lot of things that's totally crazy in these two weeks.Riley has been the wife of the owner of the hotel and the owner of that hotel is no other than Ryder's personal assistant. This is totally crazy!I know Riley has worked for me for a long time and she knows one of my motto is keeping personal life away from work which might be part of the reason she never told me about all that but what about me?I went about the whole office nook and cranny showing the world how crazily deranged my personal life is, shouldn't she have used that opportunity to maybe butter words up to tell me?My phone beeped,a sigh escaped my lips. This would be another umpt

Chapter Twenty -Eight

LianaWith the days going by I tried hard not to hate Kayla for everything that had happened to me because I know part of it isn't her fault, all of it isn't her fault that it has been hidden from me the whole time but she only poured more fuel in the fire with the way she talks and shout at me like she own me.For goodness sake I'm nineteen but she and Dad will always see me as some five years old every year that passes by.It's been crazy!I'm almost through high school and they think I'm a child that alone infuriates me the most.I'd make sure Kayla pays for everything and I don't even care if the family's company is going down the drain.I myself is going down the drain too, I've got no one to listen to me.Gem is just so carefree that she might spill the beans about this whole thing immediately someone asks her.I should keep this safe with me till it's time to use it against anyone I want to, especially Kayla.I'd make sure I'd milk her dry.I've already started though and it's s

Chapter Twenty -Nine

Noah I was supposed to have a date with Kayla's younger sister, how it just happened I don't know and I couldn't stop the flow.I think the best way to take Kayla off my mind would definitely mean dating someone in her family. Maybe they'd have similar characters or habits even though I know Kayla is a lot prettier than her sister. And the thing when she proposed to me to be her girlfriend I couldn't just reject her.If she's okay I'd just learn to love her along the line and maybe it would get better.I definitely don't want to disturb Kayla especially when she's on and about trying to get the enterprise on her feet.I hope things get better before her Dad gets the wings of it.I had already dressed up and was waiting patiently when Liana would call and tell me the venue I wanted to take her to when I got a call from an unknown number. It was a private number.“Yes, who is it?" I immediately picked the call , arranging the colar of my shirt as I looked at the mirror.“It's Logan,I w

Chapter Thirty

Ryder I carried a bag filled with gifts Kayla might like and also got her a few chocolates just in case.I hope this time she doesn't get to reject me.I know I messed up big time but I did all that because I knew she'd reject me if I had told her beforehand. It doesn't make sense if I say I'm in love with my best friend's ex-wife.I've even loved her before she divorced Jaden. My instinct told me that she's the woman for me.She's the woman I love and always will be.She's the woman I want to bear my child, she's the woman I'd never let go of no matter how hard she pushes me off because I know that everything would come through for us.“For the infinity time Riley, how many times have I told you to not let this human in my office “That voice filled with fury, I'd never seen her mad until I revealed my identity to her." Riley tell whoever that's standing at the door to get the fuck out of my office else it'd be hell for him" I crushed my knees aching forward to where she stood her
