All Chapters of REBIRTH: I REFUSE TO BE LUNA: Chapter 81 - Chapter 90

Shock slammed into me as his words kept on replaying in my mind.“That is ridiculous.” I hissed,“Yes, my Luna,” Joe answered, and for the first time since he had started using that phrase to refer to me, I didn’t even fixate on it. “But what I was told is that they’ve already started investigating the property.”“No,” I whispered as I shook my head. This could not be happening, not now, not after everything I had worked for. My chest tightened, and I felt my body begin to tremble violently. “They can’t just shut my business down!” I hissed, and from the corner of my eyes, I spotted Damien getting up too, his brows furrowed, but his eyes were filled with righteous fury.Joe remained serious. “They already did.”The room suddenly felt too hot and far too suffocating. I was more confused than pissed. More questions kept on crashing through my mind, all at once. How did the city officials actually find me? It made no sense. My business was a purely werewolf-only business. The humans were

The moment our lips touched, the tension in my body eased completely. I leaned in closer just as one of Damien’s hands slid to my waist and pushed him closer to him.The kiss wasn’t rushed, it was warm and safe.I had not planned to kiss him, it was an impulse decision, and it was a decision I was glad I had made. For the duration of our kiss, everything around us disappeared. From the chaos that Adrian had brought to the officials or even the fact that I no longer had a warehouse.None of that mattered anymore, it was just me and him. It was just us.When we finally pulled apart, my breathing was harder and my cheeks were beet red. I looked up just in time to see Damien staring down at me with softened eyes.“You keep doing that,” he murmured, his eyes brightly lifting,“Doing what?” I asked, my gaze still down.“Kissing me when I’m trying to stay calm,” he answered, “Whenever you do that, I stop thinking.”I laughed, not only because it was funny, but also because that was exactly w

Damien’s POV:I had woken up for a couple of minutes now and not once had I shifted a single muscle on the bed. Morning sunlight spilled softly across the bed, showering our bodies with a golden glow. It was a mesmerizing sight. The moment I woke up and realized that she was still asleep, I simply stared at her with a smile on my face.Nyssa was still asleep and her head was right on top of my chest, her hair was spread fully across my sheets, and even though she had been asleep for hours, her cheeks were still slightly flushed from last night. It didn’t help that the marks I had inadvertently left along her neck the previous night were still visible. She was mine, and that soothing thought was enough to fill me up with warmth. I finally shifted, and the moment I did, she felt it. Her lashes fluttered slightly before her eyes began to slowly open. The first thing she saw when she woke up was me staring at her. A sleepy smile spread across her face.“Good morning,” she whispered as she

Nyssa’s POVThe morning was painfully normal, and I actually appreciated the change of pace. After everything that had happened the past couple of days, I believed I deserved some time away from the council summons, Adrian’s constant schemes and the frequent movements.Instead, after checking around the warehouse and noting some issues I had, I immediately headed straight to my new and improved office. I nodded at Joe, who walked in and sat at the corner while I picked up a coffee from one of my assistants and began to look over the remaining shipment plans I had.Yesterday was far too hectic, so I did not have time to review the new warehouse Damien had given me, but through the preliminary examination I had done, I realized that this warehouse was far larger than the old one.At first, I had thought about protesting. After all, this warehouse must have had a use, but when Damien had stared at me with an eerily calm expression, I knew right at that moment that no matter what disputes

Despite all the complaints I had about being dragged around by my mom, one thing I couldn’t complain about was the fact that, somehow, I was actually having fun. When she had asked me to lunch, I immediatley agreed, and it wasn’t because I was already beginning to get hungry. Once again, Joe and I had been dragged by my mom to a nearby upscale restaurant.I would have suggested going to one of the myriads of restaurants that Damien owned, but I was too exhausted to argue with her. So now, all I could do was sit across from her in a beautiful private booth while soft jazz music played in the background.Joe was sitting in the opposite box from us, so he had a clear line of sight to our table. My mother had wanted a far more private booth. Joe had not agreed, and no matter how much she had insisted, Joe was not budging, so she had compromised and picked a relatively open spot. The table between us was filled with far too much food.“You know you did not have to order the entire menu, rig
