Chapter 1

I sat upright in bed and pressed my fingertips against my chest. My smooth skin was completely unharmed, but the lingering pain gnawed at my nerves.I glanced at the calendar on the wall. There were three days left until my marking ceremony with Anthony Landon.I, Sharon Kramer, had been reborn. In my past life, I abandoned my pride as a member of a powerful pack and bent over backward to please Anthony. It was all for the chance to become his Luna.I thought that meant securing a lifetime of happiness, but at our sacred marking ceremony, he held a silver dagger and stabbed it straight through my heart. He then turned around and marked the most unremarkable shewolf in the pack, Lara Elliot.Just before I died, I learned that they had already slept together.Every trace of affection Anthony ever showed me had been nothing but a complete lie.Just then, the bedroom door opened softly, and Anthony walked in.I could smell a faint scent of roses from him. It was Lara's signature

Two days remained until the marking ceremony.Inside the Gray Mist Pack's council hall, the elders were reviewing the ceremony procedures.I stood to the side while idly running my fingertips over my moonstone bracelet. I listened to Anthony chatting and laughing with the elders as if he had already become the Alpha of both packs. This was when Lara walked in.She was in a short, red dress. She walked directly to Anthony's side and slipped her arm through his. Her gaze, however, was fixed on me provocatively. She was merely an Omega in the Gray Mist Pack, yet she had always coveted the Luna position. In my past life, she rose to power by relying on Anthony's favoritism. She trampled over me every step of the way."Anthony, I brought you some nectar. It's your favorite."Her voice was soft and sweet. Her fingers traced across his chest in an intimate gesture. She completely ignored the elders and me.The elders' expressions darkened at the sight.Pack rules were clear that, be

Time passed quickly, and it was soon the day of the marking ceremony.Gray Mist Pack's Moonlight Plaza had been decorated in solemn white. Soft lights glowed gently from the lamps nearby.Pack members surrounded the plaza, while the elders sat on the high platform. They were all waiting for the ceremony to begin.Dressed in a white gown, I stood at the center of the plaza. Unlike my past life, I wasn't anxiously waiting for Anthony. I simply watched the entrance in a calm and composed manner. My wolf spirit, Lily, stirred within me. It wasn't due to anticipation, but instead there was restrained fury. She was ready to strike.Anthony finally arrived. Lara was at his side. She was also dressed in white, and she had on the moonstone crown that should have belonged to me. It was the symbol of Gray Mist Pack's Luna.An uproar broke out instantly. The elders shot to their feet. "Anthony! Have you lost your mind?"He didn't care at all.He walked up to me, reached out to grab my ch

"No! I won't allow it!"Anthony's roar echoed across Moonlight Plaza, but he was completely restrained by the warriors of Black Rock Pack.He struggled and tried to use his Alpha presence to force Sebastian's elite warriors back, but his efforts were futile. Not a single one of them responded to him. After completing the mark, Sebastian slowly stood up straight. His fingers brushed gently over the fresh bite mark on the back of my neck before his gaze shifted to Anthony. There was a hint of disdain in his eyes."Anthony Landon." Sebastian didn't speak loudly, but his voice could be heard clearly across the entire plaza."As the Alpha heir of Gray Mist Pack, you got involved with Lara before the marking ceremony, used suppressants to hide the scent, and deceived your future Luna. Do you take the Moon Goddess' rules as a joke?"The elders exchanged uneasy glances. Their expressions were grim.It wasn't that they didn't know about Anthony's behavior, but they had simply chosen to

Three days after the marking ceremony, Gray Mist Pack fell into complete chaos. When Anthony returned to the council hall, the elders had already stripped him of all decision-making power. The chief elder Steven Arterton pushed a document across the table. His voice was devoid of emotion. "This is the merger proposal from Moonlight Pack. Sharon is requesting a response within seven days."Anthony stared at the document. His fingertips pressed hard against the table."Are you betraying me?"Steven shook his head."This isn't betrayal. It's damage control. Anthony, you should understand that Gray Mist Pack has survived this long entirely because of Moonlight Pack's financial and resource support. Now that the alliance is gone, Sharon has withdrawn everything. Our food reserves will last two months at most."He paused and looked at Anthony's face. "And all of this happened because you couldn't control yourself."Anthony's head snapped up. There was fury in his eyes. "About Lara–"

An entire month had passed since the marking ceremony. In that month, as the heir of Moonlight Pack, I led Sebastian's elite forces to systematically take control of Gray Mist Pack's territory. The process went more smoothly than expected. The elders of Gray Mist Pack offered almost no resistance in accepting the merger proposal. They had no choice. Their food reserves were nearly depleted, their allies had all cut ties, and Anthony had lost Moonlight Pack's support. Gray Mist Pack was like a leaking ship that was on the verge of sinking at any moment.I had given them a lifeline."Sharon, this is the territorial map of Gray Mist Pack."Steven pushed a parchment scroll toward me. His tone was respectful."As of today, Gray Mist Pack has officially merged into Moonlight Pack. As agreed, the council of elders will remain intact and report directly to you."I took the scroll, glanced over it, and nodded."Elder Steven, you may continue overseeing internal affairs. As for Anthony–

Anthony stood at the edge of Gray Mist Woods. He watched as Gray Mist Pack's banner was lowered and replaced by Moonlight Pack's silver crescent flag that snapped in the wind.In just one month, he had fallen from Alpha heir to a loser who barely dared to leave his room. The elders ignored him. The warriors looked at him with contempt. Even the Beta who once followed him unquestioningly now avoided him.All of it was his own doing."Anthony."Steven's voice came from behind him.Anthony turned to see the elder standing a few steps away. He was holding a document."These are the options Sharon has given you. Stay in the pack and start over as an ordinary warrior, or leave for the Neutral Zone and survive on your own."Anthony took the document. His fingers trembled slightly."Will she see me?"Steven shook his head. "She said she won't ever see you again."Anthony closed his eyes. The scar on his chest throbbed faintly.Over the past month, he had figured a lot of things out

Three days later, I returned to Moonlight Pack with my team. The rogue operation had gone smoother than expected.Black Rock Pack's warriors flanked from the sides, while Moonlight Pack's main forces advanced head-on. The coordination was flawless. The rogues barely stood a chance. As for Lara, I sat at the main seat in the council hall and looked at her bound figure on the floor. She was thinner now than she was a month ago. With a bruised face and torn clothes, her eyes filled with fear and hatred."Sharon, please let me go.""Let you go?"I set my cup down and looked at her coldly. "Lara, when you told Anthony to stab me with a silver dagger in the past life, did you ever think about letting me go?"Her body trembled violently. "I-I don't know what you're talking about. What past life? I have no clue.""You don't?"I stood up and walked toward her slowly. "Then let me remind you. You told Anthony to kill me with a silver dagger at the marking ceremony so you could take my
