TEACH ME HOW TO KISS

PROLOGUE (THREE YEARS AGO) LUKE'S P.O.V The sexiest girl in the entire school agreed to go on a date with me...Me, Lucas Ford! I couldn't contain the excitement I felt. My phone trembled in my hands as I re-read the text she had just sent me. *See you then* Nia fucking Saint, the sexiest girl I had ever seen. The person behind every single boner I had ever had. And on top of it all, she was a fucking senior! Nia was unreal. I had no idea why she agreed to go out with me, a freshman, but boy, I didn't care. In less than two days, I would take Nia out on a date. It would be fucking perfect, she'd have the time of her life. I had to tell someone, I just had to, but who? I had a few friends, mostly from basketball, but I couldn't tell them. They all wanted Nia, too. I couldn't trust them not to ruin my chances with her. I did not want to mess things up, it had to be perfect. I had to tell someone I could trust, someone who would always have my back, and most i

BOYFRIEND

BOYFRIEND DRE'S P.O.V (PRESENT DAY) I'm going to kill those girls. No one is going to stop me— not even my boyfriend. I tap my desk angrily, my eyes never leave the clock. Class isn't over till fifteen minutes. The English teacher is up front. Her class drags on for so long. She had given me a warning when I begged her, just recently, to let me leave earlier. I have to leave, the rumours are spreading again. Dre's a whore, she's always stealing people's men. *I'm no whore!* I never did any of those things—well, not all of them. Except for the time when Russell kissed me during lunch. Or the other time when Evan and I made out when I was his calculus tutor. Or that one time when TJ begged me to suck his— I stop myself. Maybe I am a whore. *Fuck no* All of those boys were single when it happened. All those boys came to me. So why am I the villain? Because those girls can't control their boyfriends, they need someone to blame. And that someone is alwa

FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS

LUKE'S P.O.V Footsteps follow behind me. "Luke," she calls. I'm angry, but never at Dre. I turn. My face softens instantly, just at the sight of her. "Are you okay?" she asks me. I don't answer. Dre sighs. "We've talked about this. I'd really like you both to get along. Nate is my boyfriend, try to be nice to him." Nathaniel is just like the rest of the guys Dre has dated. They all claim to love her, promise to take care of her. At the end, they'll use and betray her, dumping her like she's nothing. Dre isn't nothing to me. "Can I leave?" I ask calmly, ignoring all she said. Because there is no way in hell I and Nathaniel were "getting along". Like the rest of the guys, Nathaniel's bound to leave, I can smell a break up coming. God, I'm so used to it. I already have a speech of comforting words prepared for when Nathaniel leaves. I can see it. A few months from now or less if she's lucky. Dre will be sitting beside me, in her room or the back of my tru

SEX TAPE

DRE'S P.O.VNate's lips finally leave mine, and I'm blushing so hard."You know it doesn't have to end here, we can go in, finish what we started," he says with a wink.I unbuckle my seat belt. Nate has taken me home, and, as always, he tries to convince me to let him stay over. Like I do all the time, I decline."I can't have boys over, my mum won't allow it," I remind him."She has a night shift. You're the only one home, Dre.""I'm sorry," I say. "Can I have my phone now?""Sure."Earlier, I had given Nate my phone so I could study without any distractions from it."Luke called?" I ask, going through my phone."Yeah, so?" Nate replies with a bit of an attitude.I stare uneasily at the seven missed calls from him."Why didn't you tell me? It seems really urgent," I say."You were studying, no distractions, remember?"There isn't a single text from Luke either, just calls.I look around, and it's getting late already."I'll see you tomorrow," I say to Nate.We get out of his car, and

WHICH EX?

LUKE' S P.O.V Dre's phone rings, cutting me off. She reads the caller ID. "Sorry, it's Nate." She's about accepting the call, but doesn't. "You were saying?" She asks, urging me to continue. I start to talk, but her phone rings again. "Just answer," I say, the edge in my voice sharper than I intended. "I'm sorry," she mutters before answering. She presses the phone to her ear, trying to get a word in — probably to tell Nathaniel this isn't a good time — but instead she breaks into a soft smile. I get up to leave. Dre looks up quickly, covering the speaker with her hand so Nate can't hear. "You're not going home, are you?" She whispers. You mean back to my house, where my Dad still is? "No," I say and walk out. Dre's giggle fades as I close the door, sitting at the edge of the staircase. I wait for her, but the call doesn't end. Ten minutes, thirty and now an hour. She's not getting off that call any time soon. Maybe I don't need to tell Dre about the v

TJ

DRE'S P.O.V I sit outside the school's guidance counsellor's office, waiting for my turn to see Mrs Hampshire. I don't see her often, only when necessary. This time she called to meet with me. A girl is seated beside me, also waiting to see Hampshire. I know her from class, advanced physics to be exact. I'm not sure if she's in the mood to talk, but I try anyway. "Hello, fellow intellectual," I blurt out. What the fuck was that? God, I'm so lame. "Fellow intellectual?" The girl repeats, followed by a laugh. I smile shamefully. "I don't know why I said that, sorry," I say quickly. "We're in the same physics class; it's a difficult class." "Hmm," she says. "Difficult?" "Yeah," I say nervously. "You have to be really smart to be in the class, so I heard." I'm so embarrassed, I want the ground to open up and swallow me. "So you think you're smart?" She asks. "I mean, you're in that class too." "Probably, who knows?" I say, trying to sound humble. "I know you are." She smi

NOT WITH HIM

LUKE'S P.O.V I wipe the sweat matted on my forehead with a towel. Practice is over. I'm exhausted. Coach Adams made sure to drain every source of energy we had left. The final season is fast approaching, and Adams made everyone train twice as hard. Vincent Reece, the team captain, is making some announcements at the centre, but I pay him no attention. All my attention is on my last text with the sender from last night. I sent a text, and the person has yet to respond. *Keep Dre in check.* What does that mean? Does the sender want me to monitor Dre? And if so, monitoring her how exactly? Am I to stop her from doing something? I'm clueless. But I know I have to. I have to do anything to stop Dre's sex tape from leaking. I have to protect her image. If it comes out, it will ruin her, it will destroy her chances of ever getting a scholarship to her dream University, Luiton. I have to look out for her. A firm hand taps my shoulder, drawing my attention. It's Ian Davies, a cl

SIDE PIECE

DRE'S P.O.VSomeone sits in front of me, and without looking, I know it's Luke."Hey you," he greets, dropping his bag loudly next to him.He shifts in his seat and makes a hell of a noise as he tries to get comfortable."Quiet, please," the librarian warns him from a distance.Luke makes a face that somehow makes me laugh."I didn't say anything," he whispers. He smiles, returning his gaze towards me."Why are you here?" I ask, going through a notebook."I'm here to study, just like you," he replies playfully, going through his bag, bringing out the single book he has.I watch him, slightly amused as he searches the table for something."What are you looking for? I ask."A pen.""You don't own a pen," I laugh.Luke rolls his eyes."You're so unserious," I tease."Are you going to give me one, or not?" He laughs.I search the table and hand him an extra pen.He takes it, tapping on the table, not doing anything in particular."Well, you said you're here to study...study then," I say,

LIKE YOU

LUKE'S P.O.V "Why would you want me to talk to him?" Dre asks with a quizzical expression on her face. The final class comes to an end. Our previous discussion was cut short. "You can do what you want," I say. "As I said before, I don't want to influence your decision." "But why, though? There has to be a reason." There is a reason, what if TJ is the sender? Talking to him might be the only way to know if it's him. We walk out of the school building, heading to the students' parking lot. "Is Nathaniel taking you home?" I ask as soon as I see him at the other end of the parking lot. He is still with Vincent and the same guys from lunch. "I don't know," she replies. "I can take you home," I offer quickly. Dre steals a glance at Nathaniel. "Okay," she agrees. But unfortunately, Nathaniel's already coming our way. He calls Dre, and it hurts seeing her eyes light up when he calls. "I'll wait if you want," I say. She nods eagerly, then turns to meet him. My

REJECT

DRE'S P.O.V "Andrea!" my mum screams from the house. Luke looks away and we get out of his truck. Mum's already dressed for work, she leaves in about ten minutes. "Hi mum," I greet, looking around for anything I can help her with. "Hi, Baby," she replies. She goes to meet Luke, who's standing oddly by the corner. "Luke, how are you holding up?" She asks, smiling softly at him. "Fine," he says. "Andrea says your father's in town. Have you taken time to see him?" Mum asks him. Luke and I exchange panicked looks. I speak up quickly. "Yeah," I cut in, "He said he'll go soon," I reply. Mum nods, satisfied. "Well, there's still time for me to talk with you both before I leave for work," Mum says. She gestures at the table, and to my surprise, our food has already been served. Mum doesn't sit with us, she had dinner already. She moves up and down the living room, straightening things that are out of place while we eat. "Do you like the turkey?" She asks. Luke nods, and I an
