Lahat ng Kabanata ng Lost Alpha: Switched At Birth: Kabanata 21 - Kabanata 30

Another shower of dust and dirt fell from the ceiling as the pack house above shook with a violent tremor. Whoever was attacking had already infiltrated the heart of the territory to reach the pack house. With Snow Pointe’s extensive patrols and training, the assailants had to have help from the inside. The guard and Imposter Andromeda stopped bickering. The cell fell silent. We stood, eyes fixed on the ceiling tiles, straining to sense the skirmish above."You two wait here. I'm closing the cell door. Stay inside," the guard growled, storming to the entrance."Absolutely not! You can't lock me in here. What if someone above needs medical attention? Will you be responsible for needless deaths because you kept me from treating them?" the imposter shouted, clawing at his arm.Her argument struck a nerve, and the guard paused for only a second before grunting in frustration and letting her out of the cell. He slammed the door shut behind her. Relief flashed briefly in her eyes before his

The world was a blur of sights and sounds.Trees, moonlight, the rustling of grass, distant shouts. The lingering haze of smoke and sweat clung to her fur. But Arya didn't falter. Her pace never slowed. She was a machine of pure will and survival instinct that carried us away from Snow Pointe's border. No words broke through her decision—no threat from the warriors behind.I was silent, a passenger in her mind as she twisted and turned through the forest paths with a skill I couldn't fathom. The way she moved with confident strides, as though she'd run these paths her entire life, baffled me. I'd never left the inner territory of Snow Pointe. The warriors never took omegas or servants out on patrols. We were considered liabilities--just another thing to keep track of and protect in the dangerous wild. But that didn't stop her from outpacing them in unfamiliar terrain. She cleared the forests and charged toward the Snow Fork Mountain Range that surrounded Snow Pointe's territory.Arya.

I waited for hours, branch clutched in my shaking hands as I sat perched just inside the cave. Every gust of wind, every sound sent my nerves on end. Panic, hot and sharp, stung through me as I trembled, terrified. Determined. Weak as I was, I wouldn't go down without a fight.Thankfully, no fight was needed.Only after the sun began its descent on the other side of the mountain, and no predator came stalking out of the tree line to attack, did I slip out of the cave and survey the area. The dying light of day warmed my fingertips only briefly before my side of the mountain was covered in cool, evening air.A fire. I needed a fire, or I would freeze to death tonight. Without Arya's wolf warmth, the cold was lethal. The sparse supplies I managed to gather before running for my life would only last a few hours at best. The only thing I could do was start the fire, stoke it high, and make a death wish run into the closest tree line for any brush and wood I could find. So, that's what I d

Not long after Gabe left, I did just what he said and drifted back off to sleep. However, the sleep was nothing like what I’d experienced before.Back in Snow Pointe, dreams were rare. Occasionally, something nonsensical and random slipped through the void of nothingness. But most nights met me with no dreams and only a vague sense of unconsciousness. When I woke, I was still exhausted. For years, I attributed my dreamless nights to the hard work or my unknown illness. But toward the end, after I began resisting treatment, more flashes came through. Solid dreams. With color and sounds and oddly specific details that I couldn’t quite place. Some were memories of things I’d long suppressed, or didn’t realize happened. Others were glimpses, fragments of moments that were too real to be the fictions of a tired mind.My three nights in the wilderness only continued that trend. The cave dreams were more buried memories brought to the surface. Vital hints that would have told me sooner that

Stepping out into the morning sun warmed my skin through to my bones. The air on this side of the mountain was crisp and sweet. The sound of birds, insects, and the bustle of the camp all blended in harmony. Children laughed and ran by, chasing a squirrel. A young couple cared for their newborn. Hardened warriors trained sprouting younglings with strict, but affectionate orders. When Gabe called Wayfinder a pack for the packless, I thought it would be... different. More disjointed. Less warm and familial. But this place felt more like a pack than Snow Pointe ever did. There were no divisions between wolves based on strength or class. The elderly worked with the young. The weak with the strong. Scents from all classes mingled into a bouquet of life and community. In Snow Pointe, it was very obvious where one was allowed to be, based on the strict class sectioning. An omega like me, a servant one at that, would never have been invited to sit among the warriors and learn how to sharpen b
