My name was Clara Faulkner. I found a job as a salesperson at a car dealership right after graduating from college. There was a saying about those who worked in this industry. Wilson was notoriously strict with his staff members. So, he had implemented a performance-rating system for us. There were a total of four performance ratings, ranging from A to D. Naturally, those rated "A" were treated the best. They didn't even need to clock in or out of work. As for anyone rated "D", they would receive a 50% pay cut to their monthly salary immediately. But these performance ratings weren't given according to our sales performance. Instead, it was according to the ranking among the dealership's staff members! In other words, it didn't matter how stellar one's sales performance was. We would receive a rating of "D" as long as others were better than we were.
