Silver Moon Rising のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 11 - チャプター 20

Sera POV I dropped onto a bench at the edge of the training grounds and downed half the water bottle in one go. My body was screaming at me to stop, to rest, to do anything except keep going. But I wasn’t going to quit. Not now, when I was finally beginning to understand what I was capable of. Elena appeared with a small bag. She sat down beside me and pulled out an apple. “You’re doing well,” she said. “Kade watches you from his office window between sessions. He doesn’t do that with normal trainees.” “He’s just making sure his investment doesn’t break,” I replied. “Maybe.” Elena took a bite of her apple. “Or maybe he’s more interested than he wants to admit.” I didn’t know what to say to that. The connection I felt to Kade was confusing. It wasn’t the mate bond. That had been different—warmer, like coming home. This was sharper. More electric. It made my wolf sit up and pay attention in a way that felt dangerous.

The neutral meeting ground was a clearing that had been used for treaty negotiations for over a century. It lay exactly in the middle between Nightshade and Shadowcrest territory, marked by ancient stones older than both packs. The ground itself was considered sacred. No blood was allowed to be spilled here without invoking the wrath of every pack in the region. I arrived an hour early with my father and four guards. My father had insisted on coming despite my protests. He wanted to “handle the situation properly,” which meant he intended to control the conversation and make sure I didn’t do anything stupid. Like apologizing to Sera for destroying her life. “Remember what we discussed,” my father said as we took our positions near the central stone. “This meeting is about preserving pack dignity and making it clear to Blackthorn that he has overstepped. It is not about your personal feelings for the girl.” “Her name is Sera,” I said. “The girl is what matters here. Her bl

Sera POV --- We faced each other again. This time, when Kade came at me, he didn't just strike. He grabbed, forcing me into holds I had to fight my way out of. It was intense and intimate in a way that made my pulse race for reasons that had nothing to do with the exercise. When he took me from behind in a restraining hold, his arm wrapped around my waist, I felt his heat against my back. I smelled pine, smoke, and something wild that made my wolf growl in approval. I broke the hold with the technique he had shown me earlier and spun free. But before I could gain any distance, Kade caught my wrist and pulled me back. We grappled with each other, neither of us gaining the upper hand, until we somehow ended up on the ground with Kade pinning me. He held my wrists above my head with one hand. His body covered mine, keeping me in place. We were both breathing hard. The position was unmistakably intimate. "Do you yield?" Kade asked. His voice sounded rougher than usual. "No." "

Damien POV "You look good," I said. A dumb opener, but I didn't know where else to start. "I've been training. Learning to use my abilities." She crossed her arms. "What do you want, Damien?" "I want to apologize. What I did at the ceremony was unforgivable. I was weak and let my father manipulate me into the worst decision of my life." The words came more easily than I'd expected. I had practiced them for days. "You deserved better. You deserved a mate who would stand up for you instead of throwing you away for political gain." "Yes," Sera said simply. "I did deserve that." "I know I have no right to ask for forgiveness. I know I can't undo what I did. But Sera, you're still my destined mate. The bond is still there. I can feel it even now. We could—" "We could what?" she interrupted. "Go back to Nightshade and pretend nothing

Kade POV --- I spent the next hour preparing. I retrieved my grandmother's journal from the locked drawer of my desk. The leather was worn, the pages yellowed with age. She had filled it with visions, warnings, and detailed descriptions of threats she had seen coming. Most of it made little sense. Prophecies rarely did until they were already unfolding. But some passages were clear enough to have guided my preparations for five years and shown me exactly what was at stake. I tucked the journal under my arm and made my way to the clearing. Sera was already there when I arrived. She stood in the center, the moonlight making her skin glow. Her eyes were closed, and I could see silver light flickering across her hands. She was practicing the connection technique I had taught her, drawing power from the moon without consciously thinking about it. She had grown stronger in just a few days. The progr
