“Adriana.” That solemn whisper whips through my ears again. My hand freezes on the door of the diner as all the hair on my skin stands to attention. Chills run down my spine as that familiar feeling balls up my throat. Fear. My eyes darted around, searching for any way to find him, but it's fruitless. He is always around, but never enough for me to see him, just enough to let me know that I belong to him, or so he says. “Will you open the darn door?” Jess sneers, tugging at my ponytail that I packed this morning in a hurry. Just focus; you are safe. He won't hurt me. I repeat the mantra to myself before I finally yank the door open, walking into the diner like I own the place. Because I technically do. I mean, working here for three years is no small feat. Lots of employees have quit because of Nana’s overbearing attitude. She used to be the one in the kitchen, cooking all the dishes until she got old and had to employ people. Now those people suffer a lot with Nana’s constant need fo

“Adriana, you are being too crazy. What the hell happened? Why are you suddenly leaving?” Jesse screams at me while I stuff my clothes into a duffle bag. After I ran away again I finally got to the road, and mixed with the crowd. They lost me, but I still had to wander about for some time so they didn't follow me home. I finally got home around five in the morning where I met Jesse waiting for me. And we have been arguing since I told her I had to leave. “What the hell happened in the club? One minute I went to ease myself the next I came out, and you are gone. I have been worried sick about you, and you get home only to say you are moving to another city. Like what the hell?” she yells, dragging the cloth I am currently folding away from my hand. She grabs the duffle bag, and throws it to the other side of the room, causing it to smack against the wall. “What the hell is wrong with you, bloody wanker!” I shout, glaring at her so hard it takes a lot not to smack her in the face. She h

Thick red liquid trickles down my forehead as a heavy sting gnaws at my side. “What the heck?” Tyler groans, reaching for his forehead. My sight blurs as everything seems upside down. “Who the heck just did that? The bastard came out of nowhere.” Ryler grits about, jabbing his elbow at the seat. The seat belt holding me cuts loose sending my body crashing forward. My nose flare as the stench of fuel mixed with metal fills my lungs. Hell. “Come on.” Tyler growls, sending his feet into the glass causing it to shatter to pieces. His growls turns more ferocious as he pushes his body forward, diving out of the car regardless of the shards sticking into his body. Ryler on the other hand has a smirk pasted on his lips, a mild groan leaving his lips. He sways out of the car with a sadistic smile curving up on his lips. Barely knowing them I can tell Ryler is more dangerous than Tyler. All smiling, but deadly. My neck throbs from where they marked me, the sting sharp as a painful groan leaves

The howl lingered long after the night fell silent. No one spoke. Not Tyler. Not Ryler. Not even me. The room suddenly felt too small, the air too heavy to breathe. Every shadow stretching across the walls looked alive, as if something lurked just beyond the reach of the light. Tyler was the first to move. "We're leaving." His voice was calm, but beneath it simmered a dangerous rage. Before I could protest, he slipped one arm beneath my knees while the other supported my back, lifting me effortlessly into his arms. "I'm fine," I murmured. "No," he replied without looking at me. "You're not." His words weren't cruel. They were filled with guilt. The kind of guilt that weighed heavier than mountains. Ryler walked ahead, every muscle in his body tense as he scanned every corridor of the pack house. His eyes glowed faintly crimson, his wolf closer to the surface than I'd ever seen. The journey to my room felt endless. Pack members stepped aside the moment they saw us. Con
