Semua Bab The Loathed Luna: A Sister's Substitute : Bab 11 - Bab 20

KATARINAThe sound of the bedroom door opening jolted me out of sleep. My eyes popped open, my heart racing, and it took a moment for the room to come into focus.Cyra stood by the door, looking at me, and I wondered what she wanted. It felt as if I had just closed my eyes. Or was I not supposed to have gone to bed before the party ended?"Good morning, Luna," she said quietly, and I pushed myself up on my elbows. "Good morning," I replied in a rough tone, still blinking. "What time is it?" I asked, but looked at the bedside clock before Cyra could respond. It was four a.m and my gaze shifted to the window, confusion gripping my throat as I noticed the sky outside was still pitch-black. But Cyra answered before I could ask. "It's time to train." I gaped. "Train?""Pack training," she clarified quickly, as if I'd been told but forgotten. I frowned. "But—" I paused. "What is pack training?" I don't understand."She couldn't possibly mean that I needed to go to training, could she? She l

ALEXANDERCyra’s eyes dropped to the ground at my question. “I wasn’t trying to assault the Luna,” she said quietly. “I was trying to train her.” But I didn’t let her finish and demanded that she look at me. She slowly lifted her gaze, and there was something carefully blank in her expression that only fueled my anger further. “I may have gone a little harder than I meant to, but I didn’t do it on purpose. I was only trying to train her.”“Under whose orders?” I cut in sharply, and she faltered. “There is nothing,” I continued, my voice rising, “that says the Luna needs to know how to fight. That is what you are there for. You are the Luna’s spear, her shield. So tell me, Cyra… why the hell was she being trained?”“I’m sorry, I—”“I know you have an answer,” I snapped, stepping closer. “A reason for doing what you did, and I want it. Now.”Her gaze dipped again, and I couldn’t control the growl that sliced across my chest. “Look at me,” I ordered, feeling anger and disgust tighten e

KATARINAMy lips trembled as I opened my mouth, and the words rose only to fall back into my chest. I closed it again and took a deep breath, forcing the air and tears back. I didn't want to appear weak in front of Greyson's father. He believed in me and loved me as if I were his daughter. I would not disappoint him by falling apart.Furthermore, he had spoken to me before this marriage, telling me that I would face challenges and that I needed to be strong because such a position demanded it, and I had promised. And what exactly would I tell him anyway? That I was too weak to defend myself.I couldn't tell him about Greyson's cruelty because Greyson said I'd pay if I did, and I had a feeling that, even if I did, his father wouldn't simply tell me to leave. He would try to mend our relationship, and I had already felt Greyson's wrath firsthand. At least he wasn't hitting me anymore. So I hardened my expression, raised my chin, and spoke. “I tried to train this morning," I said, keepi

CYRAI exited the suite, still seeing that stupid bitch’s face as she listened, thinking I was apologizing for her sake. She dared to take my hands, and I almost threw up at the slimy touch. Things I do for love. I headed toward the pack house, knowing that was where Greyson would be. He always ate breakfast with Alexander, another piece of shit I’d rather not see. But I was abruptly stopped by sharp voices that pierced the stone walls. I instinctively took a step back and glanced around the corner, just as my name pierced the air.My eyes widened looking at Greyson standing rigid near the car while his father closed the gap between them, furious. It didn’t take long to understand that they were arguing about my role as Katarina’s shield, and the first thought that crossed my mind was, “Who told him?” When I spoke to Greyson, he mentioned that his father was unaware of the situation. Greyson had told me that he had given his father an excuse for my standing next to the Omega at thei

CYRAThe water poured over me, hot and relentless, but it didn’t wash anything away. The instruction I had just given replayed in my mind, and I pressed my forehead to the wall, my hands splayed against the cold stone as I broke. When I had first heard that Greyson’s father intended to get Greyson to reject me, I had panicked. The fear had then turned vicious, and I had gone into the human city and hired an assassin to take care of Gerard. But I had ended up calling it off the moment I pictured Greyson’s face. Greyson deeply loved his father, and taking him away would have irreparably shattered his world. But this time, he left me no choice. I couldn’t separate from Greyson, especially not now. Stopping the water, I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around myself with shaking hands. My phone lay on the counter, and I stared at it, telling myself I couldn’t cancel the call again, but who was I kidding? I loved Greyson too much, and my body moved on instinct as I snatched up the phone
