(author's POV)Clara remained beneath the blankets, looking exhausted.Her face no longer looked pale, and she had stopped shivering uncontrollably but she was nothing like the lively girl she'd been only days ago.The doctor stepped away from her after a few minutes of steady full body inspection, he closed his bag and slowly turned to Helena who had been standing beside the bed the entire time watching every movement."Her condition is stable." (author's POV)Lilith found Valerie exactly where she had left her.On her bed, staring at the ceiling.She hadn't moved much since we returned from Clara's room yesterday. Lilith stood in the doorway for a moment, watching her.Her heart ached so badly.Valerie looked so small beneath the blankets, nothing like the terrifying force that had nearly destroyed everything around her only days ago.She was still her little girl, her baby.And right now, she looked more frightened of herself than anyone else could possibly be frightened of her."Valerie." Her arms folded tightly across her chest.Her expression was unreadable, but inside, she boiled with rage.
