Lahat ng Kabanata ng Steal My Heart, Mr Cole : Kabanata 21 - Kabanata 30

Laura SterlingA few hours later “You can remain relaxed, Mrs Cole. It won't hurt.“ The kind doctor said, as her warm hands worked on my legs.I sat on the edge of the bed, tense and uncomfortable, as the doctor examined my legs. Her fingers pressed into my thighs and calves, testing reflexes and muscle strength. Each touch sent sharp little pains shooting through my nerves. I winced and gripped the bedsheet tightly, trying not to show how much it hurt.Aaron stood by the door the entire time, arms crossed over his chest, watching everything like a hawk. His eyes never left me. The intensity of his stare made the room feel smaller and made me feel even more trapped than I already was. When the doctor finally stepped back and started packing her equipment, she gave me a small, encouraging smile.“The good news is you should be able to walk again soon,” she said. “The damage was caused by the harmful drugs you were daily forced on you for years. Now that you’ve stopped taking them, y

Laura Sterling“What if he finds a way to get to me?” I whispered, my voice trembling. “What if he’s right… and you really will throw me away one day?”Aaron stood near the door for a long moment, staring at me with that same unreadable expression. The silence stretched between us, thick and heavy. My hands wouldn’t stop shaking. Derick’s threats kept repeating in my head like a nightmare I couldn’t escape. He finally walked back toward the bed, slow and deliberate. He didn’t sit. He just towered over me, looking down with those intense stormy eyes.“I won’t throw you away,” he said calmly, his voice low and steady. “You belong to me now, Laura. For one full year. And I protect what’s mine.”I looked away, biting my lip. His words should have brought comfort, but they only made my trust issues flare up stronger. “Belong to him.“ Like I was property. Just another thing to own, the same way Derick once owned me.“You say that now,” I muttered, my voice weak and tired. “But I heard you

Derick Cole These fools really think they can keep her from me? I leaned back in my leather chair, swirling a glass of expensive whiskey as a smug grin spread across my face. Laura Sterling ... no, Laura Cole .... still belonged to me. She was *mine*. That weak, wheelchair-bound little bitch thought she could run to my brother and find safety? Pathetic. Aaron always acted so superior. The “perfect” older brother. The successful lawyer. The billionaire. But I knew the truth. He’d get tired of playing hero with a broken toy soon enough. And when he did, Laura would come crawling back to me on her useless knees. But first, I needed to make sure she stayed broken. I picked up my phone and dialed the number. The doctor answered on the second ring. “Dr. Ellis,” I said smoothly, my voice dripping with arrogance. “I hope you enjoyed the little gift I sent to your account. Fifty thousand dollars should speak louder than my brother’s empty threats, don’t you think?” There was a

Aaron ColeI didn’t waste time.Within two hours, my men had brought Dr. Ellis to my private office in the east wing of the mansion. She sat in the chair across from my desk, visibly nervous, her hands clasped tightly in her lap. The same woman who had examined Laura twice.I sat behind the desk, leaning back in my chair, calm and composed. My fingers tapped slowly on the wooden surface as I stared at her without blinking.“Dr. Ellis,” I began, my voice low and ice-cold. “I’m going to ask you once. What did you inject into Laura today?”She swallowed hard but tried to keep her professional mask on.“It was a standard regenerative cocktail, Mr. Cole. Nothing unusual. I explained that to your… wife earlier.”I smiled. It wasn’t a pleasant smile.“Wrong answer.”I pressed a button on my desk. One of my security men stepped forward and placed a file in front of her ....bank records showing a fifty-thousand-dollar deposit made into her account this morning from one of Derick’s shell compan

Laura SterlingAaron’s hand was still resting on my thigh, warm and heavy. His eyes never left my face ..... dark, intense, and far too possessive. For a moment, the room felt smaller. Just him, me, and the heavy silence that I wasn't intending to notice. I have only slept a few days with him and yet, my heart is conflicted on what to feel. The tension between us was thick enough to choke on.He leaned in slowly, closing the distance again. His face hovered inches from mine, his breath brushing my lips. My stupid heart started racing. That unwanted flutter returned low in my belly.“Laura…” he murmured, his voice deep and rough. His hand slid slightly higher on my thigh. My breath hitched. For one dangerous second, I almost let him closer. Then reality slammed back in.“No,” I whispered sharply. I placed both hands on his chest and pushed him back as hard as I could. “Don’t. Just… don’t.”Aaron didn’t move at first. He stayed there, solid as a wall, staring at me like he was trying
