Lahat ng Kabanata ng Replacing his murdered bride : Kabanata 21 - Kabanata 30

POV: AUDREY. As soon as Alexander walked out, I turned to Lexan in haze. "Why would you do that?" I questioned, "Scratch that, how did you even know I was here?" "That's not important Drey. How are you faring?" He asked, voice laced with concern. His mood has shifted instantly. "Well, I was fine until you barged in and made a scene here. Alexander's my husband Lex. No matter how hard it is for me to accept, I have to put up with him, at least for Jimmie. He's the only hope and suspect for attaining justice." I dished out to him, my blood boiling from anger. "What would you have me do Audrey? You always fall into one misfortune of the other whenever you are with that man. How does he stand as a husband if he can't even safeguard you?" "You think he wanted this to happen?" "It only seems like it." He spilled. In my fifteen years of knowing Lexan, this was the first time he was breaking through his calm nature. Even when he lost his parents, he didn't react to this extent. "Lex

POV: ALEXANDER. I thought I had lost it when I walked in on him circling his arms around her. But when he gave her a peck, flashing a mysterious grin at me, my insides exploded. "I will see you later." He beamed at her before leaving, like he didn't just set our atmosphere on fire. "Mr. Royales, we might catch up very soon." he flashed a grin at me and I caught sight of the orchid designed hairpin in his breast pocket. Who carries a hairpin around these days? When he left, my head snapped to Jimmie. "What was that?" "It's really nothing to worry about. That's just his way of greeting." She maintained a normal look after her absurd utterance. Like it made any sense to her. "Do you even hear yourself Hazel?" I probed. "Loud and clear.." "For fuck sake! You know I don't like any other creature close to you. Let alone another man." "Lexan's not a creature." She defended him. "He's my best friend.." But I cut her off. "Well, you are a WIFE, –not just any wife but my wife–

POV: ALEXANDER. I have had enough for the night at this point. I turned to my mom, my fist clenching together. "The..." But Jimmie beat me to it. "Therapist?" She gasped, fluttering her lashes in shock. "Is there something I don't know?" "Mom, could you explain this to me properly? How did this man end up being your therapist?" I queried, my eyes shooting imaginary lasers at Lexan. "Do you guys know each other?" My mom retorted suspiciously. "Who doesn't know about the enigmatic billionaire Alexander and his gorgeous red haired bride, Jimmie?" He taunted, flashing a wicked grin at me. "And fortunately," I mocked him, "he just happened to be my wife's best friend of fifteen years. A beautiful coincidence I must admit." I spat in disgust. "You make it sound like a crime." Lexan chipped in casually. "Basically it is." I shot out, "I mean, you somehow managed to have the Royales' women, wrapped around your stupid finger." "Alexander!" Jimmie called out angrily. "what was t

POV: AUDREY. The view outside the party hall was more chaotic than the inside. People scrambled around looking for their loved ones while some psychologically traumatized victims were being rushed to safety. The police had barred the place, preventing anyone from leaving or entering and this created more frenzy in the compound. Interrogations had began, profiling and the forensics patrolled in and out of the crime scene. Alexander sat beside me behind a paramedics van, frozen in time by his thoughts and the gravity of the accident– or rather, murder. His face has turned pale, his breathing so slow, it almost felt like a crime. My eyes looked to his own and instead of his normal brown steady gaze, they had darkened like the hades, with no lingering feeling at all. My hands trembled and cold shivers ran down my spine with minutes intervals, but I had to calm myself down. For Alexander. Truth still remained that this was the true nature of anything that involved politics and pow

POV: ALEXANDER. As my feet shuffled across the marble floor to the mansion, Charles stormed out immediately, like he had been waiting for me. His eyes carefully scammed me with pity -- from my disheveled hair, blood-stained clothes, and injured hands. He rushed to me and held my hands. "Good heavens!" His eyes slid behind me, and his face twisted in confusion before he faced me again. "Are you okay?" he asked carefully. I turned to the glass window and stared at my reflection. The sight only broke me even more. "Call Xavier." I replied coldly and walked past him into the house. Inside, it was eerily quiet without Jimmie's tantrums and obstinate nature. That was when she crossed my mind again. As I slumped onto my couch, Charles tailed behind me, his hands neatly placed behind him and his head slightly bowed. He grabbed the telephone and pressed some numbers with urgency before handing it over to me. "Xavier, my mom was just murdered." I stated plainly and he replied, "Investig
