Lahat ng Kabanata ng MR. AND MRS. LIAM: A Perfect Lie. : Kabanata 11 - Kabanata 20

Amber's POV“...you know I can't drink alcohol recently, I'm with child,” I whined, rubbing my flat belly softly.I'm in a cab going to my parents' home. My mom called again while I was having breakfast, urging me to come home because there's something important we must talk about.Annabelle scoffed from the other side of the phone.“I'm with child,” she mimicked me in a mocking manner. “I thought you were strongly against keeping the child. Where is that protectiveness coming from now?”I shrugged my shoulders even though she couldn't see me.“I don't care what you think, you're coming with us,” she insisted. “Don't worry, I'll make sure even a drop of alcohol won't get in your mouth.”“I... I don't know,” I hesitated. She released a frustrated groan.“Come on, don't be like those ladies who get restricted by pregnancy and end up abandoning their friends.”My lips curved into a smile as I imagined what her expression would be right now. She'd be pouting her lips and doing that puppy-

Amber's POVI was laughing hard while reading the clauses, then I got to the last clause and I didn't know if I should continue laughing or begin crying.“Clause 23: Since a child wasn't involved in the marriage, Amber Sinclair will have absolutely no right to any of Vincent Liam's properties.”My head tilted slightly as I focused on that part. I wasn't intending to demand anything from Vincent after the divorce, but stating it here under the guise of no child being involved in the marriage was so unfair to me. I mean, what about my time wasted during the marriage? I wasn't even allowed to work and save money for myself, so they were basically sending me into the streets penniless.“Are you going to sign that?” Ms. Miller asked.I shook my head with a serious expression.“Not yet, but this just reminds me of something very important.”“What is that?”“I should start working as soon as possible.” She wanted to say something, but I continued to explain my point to her. “If I don't start

Amber's POV“...there's never been any love between us, and I have never interfered in your affairs. I hope you'd do the same for me. We can be in love with whomever we want.”His brows furrowed in disagreement.“But you're carrying my child.”“Yes, it doesn't mean I must be in love with you too.”My reply left him speechless. He balled his fists, frowned deeply, and stared... more like glared at me.“Fine, but you can't have sex with another man while carrying my child.” His voice was firm.I rolled my eyes. I would obviously not have sex with another man, he didn't have to spell it out.“And the second thing is, I want to work.”“Work?” He shook his head vehemently. “No, I won't agree to that. You can't work...”“Why can't I?” I cut in, raising my brows.“What do you mean, why? We're not a low-key couple, Amber. I have friends all over the world who know you're my wife. Even the media knows us as a couple. What will they say if they find out my wife is working? That I have gone brok

Amber’s POVThe smile on my face vanished as soon as Vincent appeared. I rolled my eyes and slammed my phone on the table.“What are you doing here?” I finally asked the question I’d been meaning to ask. My brows furrowed as I pointed an accusing finger at him. “Are you following me? I thought we agreed to stay out of each other’s business.”He looked around with a smug expression. “This is a bar, Amber. Anybody can come here. It’s not meant for just you.”I scoffed, folding my arms across my chest as I turned away from him. He sat on a chair next to mine.“I’m not here to be a party pooper, but remember, no alcohol tonight.”“I’m not a kid!” I snapped at him.He raised his hands in surrender. I waited for him to leave, but he wasn’t making any move to leave. He simply folded his arms across his chest and leaned back in the chair.“Aren’t you gonna leave?”“I’ll wait here until he comes back,” he said, referring to Ethan. My brows knitted slightly. “I don’t need a babysitter.”“I know

Amber's POVSilence. It was dead silence in the car as Vincent folded his arms across his chest, leaned back in the seat, and closed his eyes, but it was obvious he wasn't sleeping—we were both in the backseat.I couldn't take it anymore. The silence was becoming unbearable, and I felt the need to start a conversation—even though I didn't know what to say. I coughed lightly and was ready to say anything when my phone beeped. I reached for it in my purse and realized I'd gotten a text from Ethan. Without wasting time, I unlocked my phone to view the message."You lied to me, Amber," the text read. I frowned slightly, wondering when I had ever lied to him. Just when I was about to text him back, he called.I quickly answered it. "Hello...""Amber," Ethan called my name loudly, and I moved the phone a bit away from my ear. "You... yo-you... why, why did you lie to me?" he slurred. Hearing him speak, I knew at once he was drunk. My brows furrowed as I wondered why and when he got drunk. H
