Semua Bab A Fool's College Admission: Bab 1 - Bab 10

I tilted my head and looked at his face, twisted with anger.“Are you upset because you want the spot too?”The classroom went silent for one second. Then everyone exploded.“Oh my God. Did Mason seriously just ask Lucas if he wants it?”“This idiot really has no fear.“Lucas is fighting for fairness. Who would want an admission spot that someone supposedly slept their way into to get?”Lucas’s face turned bright red.He slammed his palm against a desk, his voice rising sharply.“Me? Want it?“I’ve ranked in the top three every year. Why would I need to use some disgusting backdoor deal?”Then he turned toward the class and raised his voice.“You hear that? Not only did he cheat, he’s insulting everyone who actually worked for this!“For the sake of the class, we can’t let someone like him ruin the school’s reputation.”He pointed at me.“Mason, do you dare admit that you bought the answers for the competition?”The class started chanting along with him.Someone threw

“Can you take us too? That’s the Harrison Group gala. We’d love to see how people like that live.“Seriously. I heard Ms. Harrison is fiercely protective of her own. If we can get on her good side, we’ll never have to worry after college.”Lucas lifted his chin, looking pleased with himself.“Obviously. My dad is one of Ms. Harrison’s most valued business partners.“Once my direct-admission offer is finalized, I’ll pick a few of you to come with me tonight.”I stood from the corner of the auditorium.A few minutes earlier, Ms. Turner had said I was in the way near the front. She kicked over my chair and told me to go crouch by the trash can in the back.I brushed the dust from my uniform pants and started toward the principal’s office.Lucas stepped sideways and blocked my path.He looked me up and down, taking in my faded old uniform, then let out a sharp laugh.“Where do you think you’re going, Mason?“To see the principal.“Your grades don’t qualify you for direct admiss

Lucas did not stop.He pointed wildly at the students huddled in the corner.“And Sophia and Tyler!“They helped me throw out his binder! They dumped that filthy water on it too!“They did it! Not me!”The students he named froze in place, terror written all over their faces.Sophia and Tyler stood rigid, trembling.Claire lifted her chin. The security team moved at once. They grabbed both students by their collars and dragged them onto the stage.“It wasn’t me!” Sophia screamed, pointing at Tyler. “He did it!”“Last month, he put laxatives in Mason’s water bottle! He said he wanted Mason to humiliate himself during an exam and miss it!”Tyler’s face went red.He lunged at Sophia and grabbed at her throat.“You liar! You locked Mason in the abandoned bathroom overnight!"“You dumped filthy mop water in there too!”The two of them began fighting and screaming onstage, exposing every cruel thing they had done. The auditorium rang with shouts and frantic accusations. No

“Lucas, don’t forget to bring us to the gala tonight!”Lucas replied with a smug meme.Relax. Once Mason gets on his knees tomorrow and apologizes to me in front of the whole school, I’ll take you all out for a real feast.I watched the messages keep popping up on my phone, then turned to Claire.“Claire, he stole something from me. He wants me to kneel and apologize.“Why are we giving him a suit?”Claire gave a cold smile and made a call.“It’s not a gift,” she said. “It’s the suit he’ll wear to his own downfall.”The classroom was buzzing the next morning.Lucas stood in the middle of the room with his chin tipped high, bragging to everyone around him.“This weekend, I’m going to the Harrison estate.”“Ms. Harrison is officially taking me on as her godbrother. After that, Harrison Group will practically be half mine.”Sophia rushed over, her smile sickeningly sweet.“Oh my God, Lucas. You’ll practically be part of the Harrison family.“Once you’re settled in, don’t for

Ms. Turner’s teaching license was revoked.Harrison Group’s legal team filed a major civil claim against her for defaming Mason. She sold her family home overnight, but it was still nowhere near enough to cover what she owed.Sophia and Tyler were minors, but their role in the bullying was exposed online. They were expelled from school, and even local alternative schools refused to accept them.Overnight, they became outcasts.Three months later, Lucas was in custody when a news segment appeared on the television.“Harbor City prodigy Mason Harrison has earned a perfect score and received exceptional admission to one of the world’s top science and technology universities.”Lucas stared at the screen. In the photo, I was holding a trophy.A guard had to restrain him when he suddenly lashed out, screaming my name and demanding to see me.When Claire told me, I was working through a calculus problem.I did not even put down my pen.“No.“He only wants to see me so he can bla
