My father was waiting in the driveway when I pulled up. I killed the engine and stepped out, already bracing for the fight. He stood there in his coat, eyes cold and hard. The second he saw me he grabbed my arm and dragged me inside the pack house. “Sit down,” he ordered. I sat. My mother was already there, holding a cup of tea like she needed something to hold onto. My sister sat beside her, looking pale and scared. “Jax,” my father said, voice low and dangerous. “Your mother and I have been getting calls all day. From every pack in the league. They all know now. They all know you are with the dragon. They want an explanation. And they want you to end it.” I looked at him, throat tight. “I cannot end it, Dad. I love him. I have loved him for months. I am not going to pretend anymore.”
