I blinked against the harsh white light shining in my face.My knees ached against the hard floor, and my hands were slick with Zayden's blood.Lucius just sat there in his pristine academy uniform, looking completely bored.He spun the rolling desk chair around and lowered the flashlight so the beam pointed at my boots."Are you kidding me?" I breathed out, my heart still hammering a frantic rhythm. "How the hell did you get down here?""I walked," Lucius answered simply.He stood up from the ancient computer terminal and brushed a thin layer of dust off his dark slacks."The faculty was too busy watching the elite packs tear each other apart in the woods. "There was a gargoyle."Lucius stepped over a thick bundle of cables and walked toward us."I bypassed the maze," he said, his boots crunching softly on the loose dirt. "I've
