Ophelia's POVI must have checked the time on my phone at least ten times in the last five minutes. It was only three forty-two in the afternoon, which meant I still had eighteen minutes before I was supposed to meet Morris. Even so, my heart refused to settle. It beat a little faster every time I looked at the clock, making me smile despite myself. The anticipation in my chest felt almost ridiculous for a woman who had been married for five years. Yet there I was, gripping the steering wheel and glancing at the time again as though the minutes might move faster if I stared hard enough.Today felt like a turning point. For weeks, I had been looking forward to our anniversary. After everything that had changed between us lately, I needed today to go well. More than that, I needed to believe our marriage was not slipping through my fingers.Five years ago, Morris Carpenter had accepted our mate bond and become my husband. For a long time, I believed our bond was unbreakable. Lately, how

Ophelia's POVThe crowd erupted into applause, but the sound barely reached me.I stood frozen at the edge of the rooftop garden, staring at the impossible scene before my eyes.My wolf whimpered inside me, refusing to believe what we had just witnessed.Morris was still holding Morgana, his hand resting against her cheek with a tenderness that made my stomach twist. The kiss had ended, but the wedding had not.Champagne glasses rose into the air as laughter drifted across the rooftop. Everyone was celebrating while my entire world crumbled around me."No."The word slipped from my lips in a whisper, as Amare's agonized howl exploded inside my mind, slamming against every wall I had built to protect her. I gasped as pain tore through my chest. It felt as though someone had reached inside me and was ripping my soul apart with their bare hands.Standing before us was our fated mate. The man chosen for us by the Moon Goddess. The man who now belonged to another woman. The mate bond pulse

Ophelia's POV"I am Ophelia Starkingstein, daughter of the late Beta Harrison of Stormridge Pack.”He remained silent for several seconds after I spoke. Although I kept my head lowered in submission, I felt the weight of his Alpha aura settle over me as he assessed every word I spoke."What is an omega doing alone near a restricted border at this hour?" he asked calmly, quiet authority woven through his voice.I swallowed hard and tightened my fingers around the fabric of my dress."I was lost in thought, Alpha. I didn't realize how far I had wandered."His expression remained unreadable."Rogues have become increasingly active along our borders. An unaccompanied omega would be an easy target.”Shame burned through me because he was right."I understand, Alpha. I apologize."His eyes lingered on me for a moment before he turned toward the guards."Leave us."The guards immediately lowered their heads."Yes, Alpha."Within seconds, they disappeared into the darkness, leaving only the h

Ophelia's POVA small smile found its way onto my face. "Merry Christmas, Madam Elise."She responded with a nod and walked farther into the room while the maids carefully arranged everything on the table near the window."Today is a very special day," she said warmly.I looked down at my hands resting in my lap. "I suppose it is."Madam Elise noticed the nervousness in my voice, but she did not comment on it.Instead, she pulled out one of the chairs and gestured for me to sit."You should have breakfast first."I looked at the beautifully prepared meal before me.Freshly baked bread filled a tray lined with a clean white cloth. There were warm cinnamon rolls glazed with honey, scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes, sliced fruit, and a pot of tea that filled the room with a comforting aroma."I'm not very hungry."Madam Elise smiled knowingly. "I expected you to say that."She poured a cup of tea before placing it gently in front of me."Our Alpha gave us very clear instructions before he

Ophelia's POVThe High Priest's voice carried through the silent hall."On this blessed Christmas morning, beneath the eternal gaze of the Moon Goddess and before the Wolf Council and pack members, we gather to witness the sacred union between Alpha Nicolai Ashbourne and Ophelia Starkingstein."The last word faded, leaving only the low hum of Christmas music in the background.Every person in the hall was watching us. Then the High Priest turned to Nicolai."Alpha Nicolai Ashbourne, do you accept Ophelia Starkingstein as your lawful wife and Luna?""I do."His answer came without the slightest pause, not even a trace of hesitation crossed his face. Even the wolves gathered in the hall instinctively recognized the certainty in their Alpha's voice. The High Priest looked at me."Ophelia Starkingstein, do you accept Alpha Nicolai Ashbourne as your lawful husband?"For a heartbeat, I couldn't answer. My throat tightened, as Morris' cruel voice echoed through my memories, reminding me of e
