Lahat ng Kabanata ng Dark Illusions: Wicked Truths: Kabanata 1 - Kabanata 8

In the beginning, there were Three. The Three, born from Life and Death themselves, walked the Earth alone, each separated from the others. They could feel the life force of their siblings as they wandered aimlessly through the days and nights, with nothing but the elements and silence to keep them company. Driven mad by loneliness, they began to beg the Sun, Moon, and Earth for help. They were met with silence. When the first felt as though all hope was lost, he turned toward the Sun and cried out for his suffering to end. “I have given you everything I can, and the only thing I have left to give is my life!” He screamed toward the sky, no longer willing to fight for himself or the sisters he'd lost. The following morning, he wandered into the desert, preparing for the Sun to take him. He felt he would be a coward if he ended his own life. Instead, he wanted the elements to take him and allow him to become part of the Earth he'd wandered for far too long. It would be his fi

I pride myself on my inability to be distracted by anything, and I mean anything. Yet here I was, completely and utterly distracted by the 6'5" Greek god who had been following me around for the last four hours. And yes, we had our own gods based around the supernatural creatures that roamed the Earth, but the human interpretations of their gods were breathtaking. So here I was, cataloging his entire physical appearance through three separate classes. English had me wanting to run my fingers through his chocolate-brown, curly hair. His sharp jawline was highlighted by the length of it, while his face shape matched a heart perfectly, complete with high cheekbones. His eyebrows were perfect enough to make any woman jealous. The teacher droned on about how our language had adapted to create the basic incantations witches used to cast spells. During our lab class, we'd been partnered up, giving me the perfect excuse to look at his eyes. I gasped, which caused him to look dire

“There’s no way! No way!” Jonah shouted at Liz as she explained what she found. “I refuse to believe that!”She rolled her eyes and glared at him. “Of course you don’t! You don’t believe in anything!”This was quickly escalating into a full-blown screaming match. Heads were starting to turn in our direction, and the noise was becoming increasingly isolated to our area.I grabbed both of them by the ears and pulled them closer to the table while they both cried out, “Ow!”I let go once they were close enough that I could death-stare them into submission. This wasn’t anything new between them, but I still couldn’t believe they were doing it in Oliver’s of all places.“Quit arguing. That’s not helping anything.” I turned to Liz. “I expected better from you than to stoop so low as to argue with Jonah of all people. No offense.”He looked amused. “None taken.”“What exactly is it that you found?”Liz looked down at the book lying open in front of her. Whatever she found was enough to keep

Five thousand years ago…“Do you think that you and Mateo will get married, Amor?” Saran looked at me with those same eyes when she saw two humans falling in love.We have been living amongst humans for several years now, trying to gain their trust and understand why they hate us so badly. We know that there have been multiple supernatural attacks lately which has put everyone on edge. Now, we decided we had to step in. For the sake of our appearance and to stop innocent lives from being taken. I was scanning the crowd for anything out of the ordinary while she looked at the women gathered in the crowded shops, hurrying to buy supplies for dinner, stopping at the florist and seamstress shops before heading home.I looked at her and smiled, “Saran, as much as I would to discuss how the rest of my long life will look, we’re here to scout out a murderer.” I would be lying if I said I didn’t feel the same way. We share everything together, a birthday, memories, and adoration. Not to ment
