PRESENT TENSEThe trunk was stuffy and hot. It was so uncomfortable that I screamed and kicked it repeatedly to try and get it open. I wanted to jump out and run as far away from him as possible.Unfortunately, that was not an option because he made sure there was no way I could get out. Even my wrists were sore from being tied too hard.It took a while for us to get home after which I was grateful to have the trunk open because I could finally breathe again. Nic roughly pulled me out of the trunk and carried me into the house like a sack of potatoes. His bodyguards and his staff pretended they didn’t notice this“Let me fucking go!” I screamed as I tried my hardest to get out of his grasp. Unfortunately for me, he was very strong and I was very unlucky.“Stop kicking and screaming or I will be forced to lock you in my room and punish you everyday until you realize that you can’t just do what you want.”He walked with me up the stairs to our bedroom. That was when I noticed all the cu

TEN MONTHS AGOI was miserable in Dublin. All I did was visit friends, host charity events, and catch up on my hobbies like pottery and painting. I was an artistic person, but I never quite pursued it as anything more than a hobby.I never thought for one second that I would miss New York, considering it wasn’t my favorite place to be. But I wanted so badly to go back. I was hoping my stranger would find out I was back and take me again. I knew how crazy it sounded, but it wasn’t crazy to me. I hadn’t stopped thinking of him since we parted ways. His scent, his hands on me, and even his breath were stuck in my brain. He was ingrained so deep in me that I knew I would never be able to get him out. Unfortunately for me, my raging hormones and my obsession with someone whose face I had yet to see meant I had to wait for my engagement party to go back to New York. There was nothing for me there. I would be stuck waiting around for someone I didn’t know would find me and be miserable at

NINE MONTHS AGOThe moment I touched down in New York, I was hit with the feeling of Deja Vu. I knew what I wanted and I knew it was bad for me but if we could all control ourselves, the world would be a better place.I wanted my penthouse back, but my father had it sold while I was in Dublin. There was no way for my wealthy stranger to know how to find me unless he knew everything about me which I doubted he did.And I always used an alias when traveling, booking hotel rooms, and owning apartments. My father insisted on it since he was worried for my safety. The stranger may not have even known my real name, only my alias. And my aliases were legitimate. They were real identities of people you could find on national databases. Even if he looked into me, he wouldn’t find anything amiss with the name I had used to own my penthouse. I had come to terms with the fact that I would never see my stranger again thanks to my father. He didn’t consult me before he sold it. He claimed I would

TEN MONTHS AGO“You should be glad you’re not marrying Nico DeLuca,” Maeve said on our way to my engagement party. I felt the urge to laugh because I didn’t know where my own engagement party was to be held.I was as clueless as any guest who was attending the event. Even worse, because at least they knew where they were going while I didn’t.“Did you hear me?” Maeve asked when I refused to answer her.She seemed to dislike Nico quite a lot. I didn’t understand why she hated him so much.“I heard you,” I said with a fake smile and refrained from adding that I didn’t care what Nico did or didn’t do with his time.I was fascinated with Nico, but I hated all the DeLuca brothers. Samson especially hated Nico because he had destroyed his life, and he had never forgotten about it. Those men destroyed everything they touched. That was how I knew that Nero would sooner or later sabotage himself when it came to Serena, and she would end up being tainted or destroyed just like everyone and ever

TEN MONTHS AGO“You did this on purpose,” Nico accused me as soon as we were outside. At least he was a gentleman enough to drape his coat over me to shield me from New York’s chilly weather. He had looked around to make sure we were alone before he proceeded to accuse me of doing things I never did. I couldn’t help but laugh.“Excuse me? You have got to be fucking kidding me. I never saw your face once, remember? You crept into my life like a sociopath and fucked me at every turn. You were the one who saw my face, and you didn’t know I was your brother’s fiancé.”He had nothing to say. He kept looking at me like he believed if he stared hard enough, I would just disappear. We were both in shock. What were the odds that Nico was the man I wanted to see so badly when I arrived in New York?“You didn’t know I was the daughter of the man whose empire you want to conquer, Nico. You’re not as smart as they say you are. How the fuck did you miss it? Didn’t you investigate the woman marrying
