Semua Bab They Wanted Me to Serve My Sister, So I Joined the Northern Dragon King: Bab 1 - Bab 10

I put the crystal away and returned to the sitting room alone. When I was nine, during the winter hunt, they had left me behind just like this. That year, Cecilia had wandered into a snow wolf den, and the wolves trapped us inside. My brother and Lorne shielded her and called for our parents. My father shouted in a panic, "Elaia, lure the wolves the other way so your brother can get Cecilia out!"When I stood there trembling, my mother yelled, "Cecilia is too pretty to be scarred by wolves! Go protect your sister!"Before Cecilia was born, they had loved me, too. My brother used to carry me on his shoulders, and my parents remembered every birthday. But after she arrived, all eyes turned to the pretty, sweet-natured child who knew how to charm everyone. Little by little, I became the only person in the family no one saw.In the end, I lured the wolves away alone. I survived three days in an ice cave, swallowing snow to stay alive, before my parents finally came back for me.Footsteps b

The night before the investiture, Rayne Castle blazed with light. The ceremony roster for the next day hung high in the center of the hall.Cecilia's name topped the list, followed by her domains, title, witnesses, and Lorne as her Sworn Knight.I searched for a long time before I found my own name at the very bottom.[Transformation Array Stabilizer: Elaia Rayne.]No assigned seat. No dragon title. In a ceremony held in both our names, I was nothing more than a footnote.I stared at my name at the bottom, and even anger felt pointless. They had taken my title and my seat, yet expected me to use my frost essence to bear the risk for Cecilia.I turned to look at the banquet hall.Everyone was gathered around Cecilia, bustling with preparations. My mother and her attendants adjusted Cecilia's gown. My brother directed servants as they set up the transformation array.Lorne knelt on one knee before Cecilia and placed the oath corsage on her wrist himself."I will protect you tomorrow," Lo

[Lorne's Perspective]Lorne stared at his charred right arm, his face white as bone.He clenched his jaw and turned to look at Cecilia, unconscious on the other side of the altar. Her dragon form had collapsed. Frost covered her entire body. Her core was likely damaged.Lorne dragged himself forward, hoisted her onto his shoulder with his left arm, and staggered toward the exit.He hadn't taken two steps before Envoy Hart blocked his path."Move!" Lorne spat blood, his expression feral. "I'm taking her to the Grand Cathedral for a priest!""You enabled the unauthorized use of essence blood."Hart removed his Sworn Knight silver ring. "Your Sworn Knight status is revoked, your Black Dragon Knight authority suspended. You are under investigation."Lorne swayed. The last trace of color drained from his face."Then let Cecilia's parents, or her brother, take her to the Cathedral...""Cecilia's parents and brother are also under investigation."Hart cut him off. "Cecilia stays with me. You

On the day of the public hearing, the gallery of the Central Dragon Court was packed with lords and knights from across the realm. The moment I walked in, my father slammed the family warrant on the table."Elaia, you are my daughter! Your bloodline and your power were cultivated by the Rayne family. You have no right to defect!"My mother reached for me, eyes red."Come home with me. We raised you for eighteen years. Even if we played favorites sometimes, you can't treat your own parents like enemies."My brother scoffed."The Starfrost Tower, domain, and training resources you have now should be turned over to the family for redistribution."Cecilia clutched my Heartscale pendant, her voice faint."I've already forgiven you for running away during the investiture. Just come back, and we'll still be a family."Lorne stood with them."Elaia, stop making a scene. We're still bonding next year. I'll take care of you for the rest of your life."I looked at them and laughed."Since you all

One year later, the Northern Court held an investiture ceremony for its new Knight Commander. When I walked into the great hall in my silver-white wing armor, every Frost Dragon Knight rose to their feet.My name was first on the investiture roster hanging high in the center of the hall.[Northern Knight Commander: Elaia.][Independent Domain: Starfrost Territory.][Personal Guard: First Frost Dragon Knight Squadron.]Not someone's sister. Not someone's attendant.Severel placed the Knight Commander's token into my hands himself."You earned this through your own valor."I accepted the token and led my knights out of the hall. After the ceremony, Alden gave me the customary briefing on the territories. All of the Rayne family's mines had been auctioned. Every last coin of compensation had been deposited into my account. The auction list included the three dragon crystal mines my father had once said I "had no use for."After my father was stripped of his lordship, the family council el
