All Chapters of The Donna's Last Gift: Chapter 1 - Chapter 8

At our seventh anniversary gala, Alexander gifted me Rose Manor, the most expensive property in the city. All the socialites and heiresses were practically green with envy. They swarmed around me."Olivia, oh my god! Alexander absolutely adores you!""Please, next week at my family's charity gala, you and the Don have to come, alright?""Yes, Donna, can I get a picture with you? This Rose Manor is one of a kind. The way the Don cherishes you makes every woman in the world jealous."I could barely hold my smile together. No one knew that inside, I was already frozen solid.I made an excuse to leave, but ran into Alexander coming to find me at the corner."Olivia, where were you going?"He grabbed my hand. I pulled away on instinct. He looked back at me, so I pretended to tuck my hair behind my ear."Isn't the party almost over? Why are you still looking for me?"Alexander gave me a mysterious smile."Of course, because there's still a surprise, darling."The moment he finished, firework

I followed the tracker's signal all the way to the estate on the south outskirts. The moment I parked in the shadows, I felt a suffocating wave hit me.The fountain at the front gate was identical to the one at my estate. When Rose Manor was finished, Alexander had held me by the waist and told me he'd designed that fountain himself. One of a kind in the world. A symbol that I was his one and only. But now that "one of a kind" was sitting at Elena's front gate too.A few minutes later, a red sports car roared up to the entrance. Elena's car.I put on my bluetooth earbuds. The tracker's built-in microphone picked up their voices loud and clear."I didn't want to wish you two anything tonight!"Elena's voice came through, pouty and whiny."Fireworks, helicopters, Olivia has everything. I just want you. Why can't that be enough?"Alexander's low, indulgent chuckle followed."Don't be so spoiled. As long as you don't make a scene in front of Olivia, whatever she has, I'll give you."I felt

Alexander's POVThrough the rain, at the gate of Jasmine Manor.Alexander stood there with his umbrella, frozen in place, staring at the spot where the black sedan had disappeared. He didn't move a muscle.Next to him, Elena shivered from the cold and tugged at his sleeve."Don, your umbrella's tilted. The rain's getting me all wet. I'm freezing!"Just then, the estate manager's call cut in. The manager's voice was panicked."Don! Donna's clothes and everything she owns, they're all gone—"Elena heard the voice through the phone and couldn't help but laugh. She wrapped herself around his arm."It's okay, Alexander. Let her go. I've got your baby now—""Quiet."Alexander's voice came out low and dark.Elena went dead silent, barely daring to breathe.Alexander handed her the umbrella."I have something to take care of. Go inside."Alexander raced back to the main house. He threw open one room after another, ransacking everything. Closets, dressers, the study. But all he found was empty

Alexander's POVElena was dragged out of the hall, completely broken, crying and laughing, her voice raw from screaming.Alexander stood there the whole time, never sparing her another glance. He just gave the cold order to get rid of her. After that, Alexander went crazy searching for Olivia. He called in favors from his inside contacts at the FBI, activated the entire East Coast underground intelligence network, and even pulled strings with people in the federal government. But no matter which route he took, he couldn't find a single trace of her.Her files had vanished. No credit card activity. No travel records. Nothing. It was like she'd been erased from the face of the earth.Alexander grew more and more withdrawn. He stopped going out and locked himself in his study all day.He often sat alone in the dark, drinking bottle after bottle until he passed out.Sometimes he'd think back to Elena's smug attitude when she first came to the house, how she actually believed she was the fu
