All Chapters of I’m Just Their Freak: Chapter 1 - Chapter 9

When I was eighteen, my brothers, who once adored me, begged me with desperate eyes to take a bullet for their newly adopted sister. Naive as I was, I agreed without question and eventually fell off a cliff into the raging sea. After surviving the fall, I saved Hunter, a desperate soldier with nowhere to run. Later, he fought his way up to become the Don, treating me like a queen and spoiling me for six whole years.I thought he was different from my brothers, that he was my saving grace. That changed on a rainy night in our seventh year together, when he risked his life to bring back the first love who had betrayed him.The front doors of the estate were kicked open violently. Clutching my sketchbook, I stood at the top of the stairs, staring blankly as Hunter rushed in with a woman in his arms.I didn't understand what this meant. I also couldn't understand the pity in the guards' eyes.I didn't know her, either. But I knew it was pouring rain outside. She must be very cold and in a

Before I could even process what had happened, a sharp pain struck my cheek.A loud smack echoed through the empty hall. I was knocked to the floor, completely stunned.I looked at Hunter's hand, still hanging in the air, and the shock surfacing in his eyes.My ears were ringing, and a wave of dizziness hit me instantly.I felt so awful. Even breathing was painful.Hunter's body stiffened as he bent down. After placing the crying, burned Sadie onto the sofa, he immediately turned around. When he saw me sitting miserably on the floor, he took a step forward. His voice softened with helpless compromise."Piper, stop making a scene, okay?""Be good and listen to me. Come apologize to Sadie, and I'll pretend this never happened."Many years ago, in my brothers' house, I was always making mistakes in front of Vivian.I was clumsy and accidentally broke her favorite vase, so I had to apologize. When I embarrassed her at the family dinner, I had to apologize. When I mistakenly wore the dress

I tilted my head up proudly."See, I'm actually not that dumb."My brain is slow, but I can always remember things very well after experiencing them once.I remember back then, Wyatt and Cole also held my hands with teary eyes, telling me how much Vivian suffered out there and how pitiful she was.I was so naive then that I thought my brothers were just sharing secrets with me, so I nodded happily. But the day after that talk, I was the only one left in the massive estate.Under the sympathetic gazes of the butlers, I finally realized that my brothers had taken Vivian on vacation, leaving me behind.Did I cry that day? I forgot.I only remember that similar things happened more and more often after that.I gradually got used to staying in the estate alone, waiting for the three of them to return noisily.I also got used to accepting the arrangements of fate, just like an insignificant object. So, Hunter, you don't need to worry.I may be clumsy, but my biggest strength is being very go

Wyatt's bodyguards in the shadows instantly drew their weapons, forming a tense standoff with Hunter's men on the street. The two usually high-and-mighty Dons were now brawling on the ground.I was terrified and looked up to beg Cole."Cole, make them stop. No shooting, no fighting, okay?"But Cole merely held me tightly in his arms and quickly retreated into the safety of the shadows, away from the chaotic battlefield. He cast a cold glance at Hunter, then looked down, gently covering my eyes with his palm. His voice was very soft."Piper, don't be afraid. He asked for this.""You were right here in this city, but we searched for seven whole years and found nothing.""It was Hunter who used his power as the Don to erase all your records. He hid you in the most secretive estate and never disclosed your identity to the public.""He hid you away. For seven whole years.""He is a dead man."I froze in Cole's arms, my sluggish brain becoming even more unable to comprehend my brother's word

Later I found out that the reason my brothers cried that day was that the doctor had finally gotten my latest blood test report. The internal injuries left from falling off the cliff, combined with my severe blood disorder, had reached an incurable stage. The day after the report came out, Vivian was sent away.I heard she cried and threw a massive fit, smashing everything in her room. But this time, Wyatt and Cole were not softhearted in the slightest. The doctors around me were always sighing and shaking their heads, not even daring to look me in the eye.Even as clumsy as I was, I knew. It seemed I was truly going to die. Also during those few days, I heard that on the very first day Hunter took the blood-covered Sadie back, he found out she had willingly sold him out. He shattered her kneecaps and threw her back into the slums.Hunter went crazy trying to see me, but Wyatt and Cole issued shoot-on-sight orders to keep him out. They sent the syndicate's best gunmen to guard the hosp
