Chapter 1

"Leo, I want to end our mate bond."This time, Leo Hartwood was finally the one who called me. "Enough, Aurora. First you used our pup's life as an excuse, and now you're threatening to reject me. This is all just another attempt to get my attention, isn't it?"I've told you over and over again. You're not just my mate. You're the Luna of this entire pack. Can you stop being so selfish?"I couldn't believe what I was hearing.Yesterday, the pup I was carrying had suddenly taken a turn for the worse. The pack doctor told me there was only one thing that could save him—Moondew, a rare potion brewed by witches.I had one vial.It was the last lifesaving potion my father, the Alpha of the Frosthaven Pack, had given me before I married Leo.I rushed home and tore through my belongings, desperate to find the Moondew and save my pup. That was when I learned someone had taken it just ten minutes earlier. It was none other than Leo Hartwood. My own mate had taken it for Lilian Garne

Chapter 2

When I returned to the pack from the Council of Elders, I saw Lilian's latest post. The caption read, "I only had a fever, and someone still went out of his way to get me precious Moondew. Couldn't ask for a more dependable Alpha!"In the photo, Lilian was smiling as she held up the vial of Moondew my father had given me. A wolf stood with his back to the camera behind her.I recognized him immediately. He was my husband—my Alpha. The comments were already pouring in.Some gushed over how sweet they were together and wished them a lifetime of happiness. Others were asking if Lilian was the Luna of the Moonlight Pack.I stared at the post without shedding a single tear.I'd cried enough when I lost my pup. Whatever love I had left for Leo and whatever hope I'd still placed in him had died that day too.My father had been right all along.Leo was never going to be the mate I needed, no matter how convincing his promises had once sounded.Three years ago, I'd fallen for Leo t

Chapter 3

This wasn't the first time I'd told Leo I wanted to end our mate bond. He'd never taken me seriously. He always assumed I was speaking out of anger. He'd tell me to calm down and stop saying things that hurt him, then win me over with the same sweet promises."Aurora, you're my one and only mate. You're the only Luna I'll ever choose."Everyone in the Moonlight Pack believed I could never bring myself to leave him.Leo believed it most of all.He thought this time would be no different. Eventually, I would give in, forgive him, and everything would go back to the way it was. This time, I didn't even reply. On the day of the funeral, I stood alone before my pup's grave and said my final goodbye. No one came with me.Leo had used his authority as Alpha to forbid anyone in the pack from taking part in what he called my little performance.Even now, he was convinced I was lying.A car sent by my father was already waiting outside the cemetery to take me home to the Frosthaven

Chapter 4

A sharp ache went through my chest, and I tore my arm from his grasp. "I told you, Leo. I told you over and over again. You chose not to believe me." From the moment our pup began to weaken, I'd called him again and again, begging him to listen. He never did.To Leo, every desperate call and every frantic message had been nothing more than another scheme to get his attention."I'm sorry." Leo lowered his head. "I should've believed you. This is my fault." For the first time, I saw tears in the proud Alpha's eyes."I thought you were lying. I thought you were letting your jealousy get the better of you. And our pup..." His voice broke. "I thought he was strong. I never imagined we could lose him. If I'd known he was really in danger, I would've brought you the Moondew myself."Please forgive me, Aurora. You know you and our pup mean more to me than anything. No one could ever come before the two of you."Once, those words might have been enough.I might have believed his te

Chapter 5

Leo Hartwood's POVI stayed beside my pup's grave for a long time.By the time I finally got up to leave, night had almost fallen. As I turned around, I caught sight of a familiar figure in the fading light. "Aurora?"She started toward me at the sound of my voice, and I quickly realized my mistake. It wasn't Aurora.I frowned, unable to hide my disappointment. "Lilian? Why are you still here?""Leo, I think I'm coming down with something. I feel so dizzy."Lilian pressed a hand to her forehead and leaned into me for support.I stepped away before she could. Looking at her now only reminded me of our pup. Of the Moondew. Of the choice I'd made without ever stopping to question whether Aurora might have been telling the truth.I knew none of this was Lilian's fault, but that didn't mean I could look at her without thinking about everything I'd lost. Aurora must have been devastated. At least she'd forgiven me. Somehow, after everything I'd done, she was still willing to

Chapter 6

"Are you out of your mind?" I roared at him. "She was with pup! Why wasn't the wine checked before it was given to her? Do you just believe everything Lilian tells you?"The words had barely left my mouth when I froze. Aurora had once asked me almost the exact same thing."Leo, why do you always believe Lilian instead of me?"She'd been crying when she said it, and I'd brushed her off. I'd convinced myself that Aurora was simply jealous of Lilian, that every complaint and accusation came from her own insecurity. But I was the one who had brought Lilian back into the pack.I was the one who had gone out of my way for her time and time again, until everyone around me had started treating Aurora like an afterthought, just as I had.I turned to my Beta."Listen to me. Aurora is your Luna. She always has been, and she always will be. No one else." Then I gave him my order. "Find her."I didn't wait for a response. I ran out into the night and headed straight for Lilian's house.

Chapter 7

Aurora White's POVAfter three years away, I was finally home. The moment my father saw me, his eyes filled with tears. He pulled me into his arms and held me tight. "Welcome home, Aurora."Those three words nearly broke me.Once I returned to the Frosthaven Pack, I wasted no time taking over pack affairs. There was some resistance at first. Not everyone was thrilled to see the Alpha's daughter return after three years and immediately step into a position of authority. But I had been raised for this. It didn't take long for me to prove I belonged there. As I worked my way through the pack's financial records, I found myself wondering how I'd ever forgotten who I was.I was a shewolf, raised from childhood to inherit the Frosthaven pack. Then I met Leo.And three years ago, I'd thrown away the future I'd spent my entire life preparing for and left my pack behind for him. Three years. I'd given three years of my life to a man who had never deserved them. The deeper I du

Chapter 8

"You can't stand that I didn't stay where you left me and keep putting up with whatever you chose to put me through. You can't accept that I don't love you anymore. You keep begging me to come back because that's what you need." I paused."But you never once stopped to ask what I want."Saying it to his face left me feeling lighter than I had in years. "I chose to leave my pack and become your Luna because, at the time, I chose you. I paid dearly for that decision. Now I'm choosing to leave for the exact same reason. It's what I want."I don't love you anymore, Leo. Our mate bond is gone, and so is everything I once felt for you. Whatever you do from now on means nothing to me. Even if you died tomorrow, it would have nothing to do with me."I summoned my Beta and ordered him to escort Leo out. Before he left, I gave him one final warning."I don't know how you got past my wolves or who you convinced to let you in, but I'll find out. If you enter Frosthaven territory without
