I didn't rest throughout the day. I wandered aimlessly, like a restless mother searching desperately for her child. I couldn't shake the words that young man had said to me. The scent of his blood still lingered in my mind, stirring something within me. I was lost in thought, unsure of what to do. I considered following his scent and tracing his blood wherever he had gone, but he was already far away.My eyes remained wide open until dawn as I lay awake, lost in thought and calculating the hours in my head. When it was almost noon, I hurried into the woods—the very place where I had seen him pass before. I waited patiently for him to appear.Other humans passed by, but they held no interest for me. I lingered in the woods for what felt like an eternity, pacing from one corner to another along the cliff that dropped sharply toward the road, never taking my eyes off the path. Finally, I saw him approaching from afar.My heart began to race again. But I didn't care. I was over two hundred and sixty years old, my mind consumed by revenge, and I had no intention of truly studying. My plan was simple: make Eric fall in love with me, turn him into a vampire, and spend eternity together

The look on everyone’s faces was one of pure disappointment. Honestly, I wished they would ask for something—anything—else. Never in a million years had I imagined that I would one day consider living among humans. One after another, everyone began leaving the hall, whispering words I couldn't quite make out. Only Aretha remained, standing motionless with her head bowed.“And what are you still doing here?” I asked, remaining seated majestically on my throne.Aretha said nothing. Her silence irritated me more than anything. Anger surged through me. I rose from my throne and rushed toward her, my fangs snapping into view as I nearly grabbed her by the neck.“Stop!!!!” Samantha's voice rang through the hall.I turned toward her, my gaze sharp and furious. My heart raced as I struggled to control the urge to sink my fangs into Aretha's neck and drain her dry. Rage had consumed me, leaving little room for me to reason.“Stop it,” Samantha repeated, this time walking toward me with confide
