“This was all your fault. I wouldn’t be in this mess if you hadn’t dragged me to this stupid cruise. Now, we’re somehow stranded on a deserted island! My original plan was to take Aimee to the other side of the deserted island, but I did not expect to bump into Kacey and Saddler, who had been wandering around blindly. By sunset, I finally found a sheltered location where we could escape the rain. I looked around to ensure the surroundings were safe. Then, I secured Aimee there and went off alone to look for food. I found some fruit and happily brought them back to our shelter. However, what I saw there enraged me. The cave had been taken over by Kacey and Saddler. Aimee had been forced to the mouth of the cave, and she was so cold that she was shivering violently. When she saw me returning, Aimee tearfully threw herself into my arms. “You’re finally back, Dad!”My heart shattered. “What’s the meaning of this, Kacey?!” I yelled.Saddler walked out wearing a disdainful look on his face. “No particular meaning. “Don’t you think you can forget who your real dad is just because Jared raised you for a few years! I nearly ended up beating Saddler to death. However, Kacey and Aimee stopped me before I crossed the line. Kacey loved Saddler so much that she was willing to sacrifice herself, shielding him and taking the beating for him.“Kill me if you dare!”Aimee was still shaky from the shock of her ordeal, and she was frightened upon seeing my frenzy. I was shattered at how much Kacey loved and protected Saddler. When it got dark, I knew I had to bring Aimee to find another place to shelter. Thus, I had to let Kacey and Saddler go. They must have been scared or weak from hunger, because they did not come and seek more trouble with me. Aimee and I spent the next two days in peace. Initially, I still wanted to get even with Kacey and Saddler, but I changed my mind. I had to think of Aimee, so I could not do anything impulsive. After waiting for a long time, we were finally saved. A group of my friends had rented a boat to come and find me. “Do you know how much work we put in to find you, Jared? (1st POV)In the end, Kacey and Saddler were still saved from the island. It was not because they were particularly lucky or anything. Rather, someone saw the SOS signal I had left behind. With all that had happened, I thought that Kacey would not have the guts to come back. However, she was at home waiting by the time I got back. Kacey looked even worse than she had been when we left the island. Her skin was tanned, and she was rail thin. She looked as if a stiff breeze would knock her off her feet. When she saw us coming through the door, tears spilled from her eyes, and she threw herself at me to hold me in her arms. “I’m finally home, darling!
