Chapter 1

My agent’s voice was electric. “Honey, that’s fantastic! I’m so glad you came to your senses!”“I’ll pick you up from the airport myself in seven days. You’re going to bring home another Oscar, I’ve got a good feeling about this.”The second I hung up, a single tear slid silently down my cheek.Just then, a pair of large hands gently touched my belly from behind.Cormac rested his head in the crook of my neck, his voice a low whisper. “Baby, I’m so happy. The doctor said it’s triplets. The Brown family will have its heirs soon.”“If the pregnancy is life-threatening, would we still have these three kids, Cormac?”I stared hard at the man I loved, my voice trembling.A second ago, his eyes were full of tenderness. Now, his face darkened.“Don’t be stupid, Victoria.” His tone was hard, leaving no room for argument. “This is the Brown family bloodline. You will have them, no matter what.”No matter what. Did that include my life?My stomach churned. The warning from my future self, his wo

Late that night, the bedroom lamps were dim.Cormac leaned against the headboard, his powerful hands now gently stroking my flat stomach. He had no idea it was already empty.“We’ll name the boys Leo and Enzo, and the girl Mia,” he said, his eyes full of dreams, already playing the part of a doting father. “I’ve had these names picked out for a long time.”Ice flooded my veins.Three days ago, Bianca had posted on her social media: “I want three babies one day. I’ve already picked their names: Leo, Enzo, and Mia.”My chest tightened, the pain stealing my breath.Even the names for the children had to come from her wishes.I closed my eyes, pretending to be tired, unwilling to look at his hypocritical face for another second.Soon, the man beside me was breathing evenly.“Bianca…” he murmured in his sleep, his deep voice laced with endless tenderness. “I love you.”Those three words hit me like a physical blow.I opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling, sleepless for the rest of the ni

The morning sun was blinding. When Cormac came out of the guest room, he seemed to have forgotten last night’s fight. Maybe he was thinking about the three “bargaining chips” in my belly that would secure Bianca’s stardom, because he made a rare effort to be gentle. He sat down at the dining table and placed his hand on my stomach.“Baby, I was out of line last night,” he said, looking into my eyes. “Have the babies been kicking today? Did you feel anything?”I looked down, swallowing the bitterness in my throat. “It’s too early. Not yet.”“When they’re born, I’m going to build the biggest playground for them at the estate,” he said, his eyes glowing with a fanatical excitement. “I’ll give them the best of everything in the world.”Listening to his grand plans, I felt nothing.I knew that in his perfect future, there was no place for me.At ten a.m., the doorbell rang.Bianca stood outside, holding several designer shopping bags, a sweet smile on her face.“I heard Victoria was upset l

Cormac’s brow furrowed, his sharp eyes fixed on me.I kept my expression neutral and flipped my phone screen-down. “Nothing. Just some industry gossip Rita was telling me about a big role everyone’s fighting for.”Cormac looked skeptical. He walked closer, his gaze falling on the fading handprint on my cheek. A flicker of regret crossed his face. He reached out to touch it, but I turned my head away.“Does it still hurt?” he sighed, his voice softening. “I’m sorry. I was impulsive yesterday. I know the online rumors bother you, but you shouldn’t have thrown hot milk on Bianca. For the babies’ sake, you need to control yourself.”I felt sick listening to him. I didn’t even have the energy to argue.Just then, his phone began vibrating wildly. The second he answered, Bianca’s hysterical sobs filled the quiet living room. “Cormac! Look at Twitter! Someone leaked that I’m a homewrecker, that I’m a shameless mistress! I’m ruined!”Cormac’s face turned to stone. He hung up and stared at me.

A thousand flashbulbs went off, and I became the center of the universe.I didn’t even spare a glance for Cormac’s stunned face in the crowd.I held my head high, a perfect, flawless smile on my face, radiating pure, undiluted star power. The media went wild.“Oh my god, it’s Victoria! She’s really back!”“She looks absolutely incredible! Her figure is perfect. That’s a real star!”“Compared to Victoria, Bianca looks like a cheap wannabe…”The comments were loud and clear, each one a slap in the face to Cormac in the audience and Bianca backstage. After the red carpet, I was escorted by security to the VIP lounge. The moment the door opened, a figure lunged at me, screaming.“Victoria! You bitch, you stole my role!”Bianca’s face was streaked with tears, twisted by jealousy and rage. She was a complete mess. She grabbed a metal prop dagger from a table and lunged, aiming straight for my face.“I’m going to ruin you!”I watched her, my expression cold, not even taking a step back.Rita

The air in the supply closet froze.“What did you say?” Cormac’s large frame went rigid. For the first time, I saw a crack in the handsome, always-in-control face.He stared at my flat stomach, his eyes filled with panic and disbelief. “Victoria, you’re just saying that to hurt me, right? You went through ten rounds of IVF for those babies! They were the future heirs of the Brown family! You wouldn’t get rid of them!”“Do I look like I’m joking?” I stared back at him, my eyes empty of emotion. The moment I decided to get rid of those embryos that weren’t even mine, he lost all power over me.I could hear the reporters outside, looking for me.I didn’t give him a chance to say more. I spun around and threw open the closet door.Blinding flashes and dozens of curious eyes instantly fell on us. It wasn’t just the press; a crowd of onlookers had gathered. While everyone was wondering why Hollywood’s new queen was in a tiny room with the Godfather, I did something that silenced the entire h

Cormac stared at the filthy images on the screen, a vein throbbing in his forehead.“What is this?” he growled, turning to Bianca. The color drained from her face. She trembled, shaking her head and trying to explain. “No… Cormac, listen to me! It’s the angle, we were just faking it for a scene! He forced me, that actor forced me!”CRACK!Another slap, but this time, it was Cormac’s hand against Bianca’s face. The force sent her sprawling to the ground, blood trickling from her lip.“Do you think I’m blind?!” Cormac roared, his elegant facade completely shattered.I didn’t bother watching the rest of their drama. I left the circus behind and, surrounded by my security team, walked away without a backward glance. From that day on, Bianca’s reputation was in ruins. The scandal—her vicious schemes, her affair, her cheating on her powerful benefactor—was headline news for weeks. This time, Cormac didn’t lift a finger to help her.In fact, Cormac could barely help himself. The recording had

After the storm passed, my career reached an unprecedented peak.Free from anyone’s emotional manipulation, I poured all my energy into my work. Top-tier movie roles and global luxury endorsements made my life incredibly full and dazzling.Cormac, however, had become completely lost in his self-made role of the “devoted mob boss.” He seemed to naively believe that if he just humbled himself, I would come running back, grateful as I once was.He sent extravagant gifts to my agency and film sets every day. One day it was a priceless, flawless blood diamond from South Africa; the next, ten thousand perfect red roses flown in from Ecuador.I never even bothered to look at them, simply telling Rita to have them all thrown in the dumpster. But that didn’t deter him. It only fueled his obsession. It all came to a head on the night of my Hollywood blockbuster’s world premiere. The premiere was a massive success. The audience gave my performance a standing ovation. That night, thousands of dron
