Quit Playing With My Heart

As soon as Jenna entered the hip-hop class, she how observed different groups of dancers were scattered around, everyone was chit-chatting, everyone was gossiping. The mirrors in the room were up to the ceiling and down to the hardwood floor. The dance studio was massive and she loved it.

Suddenly, a whistling noise pierced through the room, Jenna's heart nearly bursted with shock, it was just so sudden. Everyone responded by rushing into the middle of the studio creating a circle. "So class we have a new student here called Jenna, she just moved here from England. So make sure to be polite to her." Miss Cook commanded. "So Daniel is the choreographer for the dance we are doing right now but unfortunately he's late." Miss Cook explained with a disappointed expression.

"I swear he'll be here in a second. Meanwhile, I'll teach her the dance." James offered.

"Oh shoot," Jenna muttered under her breath.

"That's really kind of you James." Miss Cook praised.

Jenna felt like her heart was being punched in all different directions as James shifted towards her. "Hey, I'm James." He introduced, welcoming her with a big and attractive smile.

"Nice to meet you, James," Jenna replied feeling like she had just been shot.

"The last time, I went to England I was like ten years ago. It's a great place so how come you moved?" James asked.

"My parents fell in love with Vancouver ever since they visited," Jenna explained. Even though, it didn't seem like much of a reason.

"Cool let's start the dance." James enjoined. James was really energetic and had a bubbly personality which Jenna liked. "So as you take your left leg backwards, you need to punch both of your hands downwards while kneeling on your left knee." While, teaching the dance he was being really friendly which made Jenna like him more and more.

As they learned the dance, few whispers travelled down the classroom which caught Jenna's attention. It was mainly from these groups of girls who were gathered in a corner they basically wore the same thing. Lulu lemon leggings and Victoria's Secret zipped down hoodies with cropped tops peaking from the middle.

"You're late Daniel." Miss Cook complained while crossing her arms.

"Sorry I had a dentist's appointment." Daniel apologized. Daniel had dark brown hair and puppy brown eyes which led to a heartthrob. Everyone liked Daniel he was mainly famous for his jokes and charms, he was actually one of the nicest guys in Jenna's grade, who happened to be exactly Stacy's type.

"I see you met the player," Delilah revealed in front of the girls at the lunch table. Then eyeing Bella from the corner.

"Player?" Jenna's eyes went wide.

"Yah" Bella calmly revealed while taking a bite of her cheesy pizza.

"Who?" Curiosity was clear in Jenna's eyes.

"Who else? The guy you were getting so cosy around earlier." Delilah leaned forward, resting her hands on the table then gave Jenna a wink.

"James!" Jenna's heart nearly slipped out of her ribcage and shattered right onto the floor.

"Surprised?" Bella questioned rolling her eyes.

"James is a player? Wait but how did you know I was speaking to him?" Jenna asked as her head whipped side to side.

"Oh it's all over the school," Amy mentioned quietly close to Jenna's ears, which almost came out as a whisper.

"What?" Jenna's eyes were still wide. How could it already be all over the school?

"Wait? Are you falling for him or something?" Bella raised her voice then looked directly at Delilah.

"No!" Jenna exclaimed.

"Be careful okay?" Amy warned, staring deep into Jenna.

"Okay." Jenna agreed calmly then practically shoved the pizza down her throat.

"I see, he has his eyes on you," Bella revealed then chuckled quietly next to Delilah but Delilah looked worried then gently nudged Bella.

"What?" Jenna repeated not knowing whether she should be worried or flattered.

"Bet you're his new target." Bella continued. Her ocean eyes looked dangerous and threatening.

"No way." The words flew out of her mouth as she picked on her fingernails under the table.

"It's possible, I mean Amy fell for him in 8th grade." Bella shrugged then winked at Amy. Deep down Delilah knew why Bella was being so provocative. She knew her best friend more than anyone else. She knew Bella was hurt.

"Shut up!" Amy's cheeks flushed from embarrassment.

"A player? I never actually met one of those before." Jenna thought to herself.

"Guys! Stop it's her first day. We don't want to make her uncomfortable" Delilah ordered.

"Oh, I'm so sorry we were just joking. We didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable." Amy apologized and tried to ease the situation. It was mainly an apology for Bella's behaviour. Bella just stared down at her plate and remained silent.

"Don't worry it's fine." Jenna's voice cracked but she eased it with a smile to hide the nervousness exploding inside of her.

"Have you heard that Jamie Jansen puked in front of everyone in chemistry class?" Delilah changed the subject to lighten the mood when another one of those massive cheesy pizzas arrived.

"OMG really?" Amelia asked while putting the slice on her empty, yet crumbly plate.

"Yeah, I feel sorry for the person that sat next to him." Delilah joked as the girls laughed at it.

"Who's Jamie Jansen," Jenna questioned curiously.

"You don't wanna know," Bella said flicking her golden blonde hair.

Although, the girls gave a bad impression of him, she still wondered what he was like.

Jenna was so surprised by the number of people that went up to the girls and said hi to them. Even though, they had been in there for about fifteen minutes, at least twenty people went up to Delilah and her friends. "People must really like them." Jenna thought.

Just then Daniel appeared looking exhausted and totally Hot! After, a lengthy basketball game and with guess who? James! Meanwhile, Jenna's heart started pounding again. Daniel, James and the girls had been friends since they were in elementary school. They basically grew up together.

"Eww sweat much?" Delilah joked as Daniel hugged and sat right next to her.

"I blame the basketball game," Daniel replied as James sat opposite Jenna.

"Oh, God." Jenna thought as her heartbeat accelerated. She even wondered if he could hear it. And there she was, looking distracted as ever. "Wow, I can imagine him looking cute, even wearing a bin bag." Jenna admired as she tried not to look all lovey-dovey while staring at James. It was extremely hard to avoid him. He literally sat opposite her. Was she not supposed to admire him? Even after the girls revealed that he was a player. So many warnings were alarming at the back of her head, she still couldn't help but admire him. Admire the James she knew. The James with a really nice and bubbly personality, that made her laugh like an idiot.
