Yeah, but check the narrators before you buy. I picked up 'Changing the Game' on audio and the narrator's voice for the male lead just sounded... off. Too young, maybe? It took me out of the story a few times. The production quality is fine otherwise, just a personal preference thing. I ended up switching back to the ebook for that one.

Some of the later books seem to have more consistent casting. So if the first one you try doesn't click, maybe skip ahead a few titles in the series and sample another. They're definitely out there though, easy to find on major platforms.

Oh yeah, for sure they have audiobooks. I listened to the whole series last year during my commute, and I'm pretty sure all the main 'Play-by-Play' books by Jaci Burton are available in audio. They're all on Audible, at least.

I mostly know because I go through audiobooks so fast that I'm always checking for series with a lot of installments. The narrators change a bit throughout the series, which threw me off at first, but you get used to it. I liked the narrator for the early ones—think it was Sophie Eastlake? She had a good rhythm for the sports talk and the steamier scenes.

Honestly, hearing the play-by-play sports metaphors is kind of funny in audio. Makes the locker room talk feel more real, maybe a bit too real sometimes. But if you're into audiobook romance, it's a solid pick. My library had a few of them on the Libby app, which is how I found them initially.

Yes, there are. Audible has them. I listened to a couple. They're fine, standard romance audiobook fare. Nothing spectacular about the production, but they get the job done if you want to multitask. The narrators are competent.

I can confirm the audiobooks exist because I literally just borrowed 'The Perfect Play' from my local library's online service. It's perfect for when I'm doing chores or driving—the stories are engaging but not so complex that you lose the plot if you get distracted for a minute. The blend of sports drama and romance works really well in an audio format; the tension during the games is actually pretty well done with the right narrator.

It's a long series, so having them in audio makes getting through all the connected stories less daunting. Feels like hanging out with familiar characters for hours, which is exactly what I want from a comfort-listening series.

What is the reading order for Jaci Burton Play-by-Play series?

This is one of those series where you can mostly just dive in anywhere that seems interesting, though I think starting with book one, 'Changing the Game', does give you the best foundation. It establishes the dynamics between the Riley family, who own the sports agency, and the team they're involved with. Knowing those relationships makes later interactions way richer, especially when characters from earlier books pop up at family barbecues or games. That said, the author does a good job making each couple's story standalone. If you're just in the mood for a hockey romance, you can jump straight to 'Taking a Shot' or 'Playing to Win' and not feel lost. The reading order on her website lists them chronologically, which is probably the 'official' way, but I read them totally out of order based on what my library had available and still enjoyed every single one. I'd say pick the sport or trope that grabs you first. The baseball ones have a different vibe than the football or hockey books, honestly. Just be prepared to get hooked and want to go back for the ones you missed later.

I noticed many of them do have audiobook versions. For example, 'The Deal' by Elle Kennedy and 'Kulti' by Mariana Zapata are available as audiobooks, narrated by talented voice actors who really bring the characters to life. It's a great way to enjoy the story while commuting or working out. Some audiobooks even include dual narration, with different voice actors for the male and female leads, which adds depth to the experience. If you're into sports romance, platforms like Audible, Scribd, and Libby often have a wide selection. Just search for the title and check the format options.

yes, many second chance sports romance books do have audiobook versions. I recently listened to 'The Deal' by Elle Kennedy, which has a fantastic narration that really brings the tension and chemistry between the characters to life. Publishers are catching onto the demand for audiobooks in this genre, so titles like 'Kulti' by Mariana Zapata and 'The Wall of Winnipeg and Me' also have great audio adaptations. The narrators often add an extra layer of emotion, making the second chance trope even more gripping. If you're into audiobooks, platforms like Audible and Scribd have a solid selection of these stories.

Can I buy best sports romance novels as audiobooks?

I can confidently say that many of the best sports romance novels are available as audiobooks, and they’re an absolute delight to experience this way. For instance, 'The Deal' by Elle Kennedy is a fantastic hockey romance that’s even more engaging in audio format, with the narrator perfectly capturing the banter between the characters. Another great pick is 'Kulti' by Mariana Zapata, a slow-burn soccer romance where the audiobook adds so much depth to the protagonist’s inner monologue. If you love baseball romances, 'The Bromance Book Club' by Lyssa Kay Adams is a hilarious and heartfelt choice, and the audiobook version enhances the humor with stellar voice acting. For something grittier, 'The Wall of Winnipeg and Me' by Mariana Zapata (again, she’s a queen of sports romance) shines in audio, making the emotional payoff even sweeter. Audiobooks also bring out the intensity in novels like 'From Lukov with Love' by Mariana Zapata, where the figure skating backdrop feels more vivid. Many of these are available on platforms like Audible, Scribd, or Libro.fm, so you can enjoy them during workouts, commutes, or just relaxing at home.

Can I find audiobook versions of american football romance books?

I can confirm there’s a treasure trove of American football romance audiobooks out there. One standout is 'The Wall of Winnipeg and Me' by Mariana Zapata—slow burn, grumpy-sunshine vibes, and the narration captures the tension perfectly. Another gem is 'Ride' by Harper Dallas, blending football action with steamy romance—great for fans of sports drama. For those craving emotional depth, 'The Score' by Elle Kennedy is a must-listen, with witty banter and a charming quarterback protagonist. If you prefer indie authors, 'Intercepted' by Alexa Martin offers a fresh take with a strong female lead navigating NFL drama. Platforms like Audible, Scribd, and Libro.fm have extensive collections, often with samples to test narrators. Pro tip: check for dual narration—it elevates the experience when both leads’ perspectives shine.

Are there audiobook versions of popular basketball romance novels?

4 Answers2025-09-06 10:37:12
I get asked this a lot when I’m geeking out over sports tropes in romance: yes — plenty of popular basketball-centered romance books have audiobook versions, especially the ones published by mid- to large-size presses or successful indie authors. If a book has decent sales or a strong fanbase, authors and publishers often invest in an audio edition because it reaches commuters and people who devour stories while doing other stuff. You’ll often find them on Audible, Libro.fm, and sometimes directly through publisher sites. When you’re hunting, try searching for terms like "sports romance," "basketball romance," or the author’s name plus "audiobook." Library apps like Libby/OverDrive and Hoopla also carry many of these titles for free with a library card — that’s how I binge a lot without breaking the bank. Pro tip: sample the narrator before you buy; some productions are single narrator, others use dual POV or full-cast for more cinematic vibes, and that can make or break the listening experience for me.

Does the Jaci Burton Play-by-Play series have a satisfying ending?

4 Answers2026-07-08 14:46:00
The Play-by-Play series by Jaci Burton is one of those long-running romance series that kind of evolves as it goes. I wouldn't say there's a grand, series-finale style 'ending' that ties everything up in a bow, because it's structured more as interconnected standalones within the same sports/entertainment world. The later books do shift focus to a new generation of characters, like the children of the original couples from the early books. So your satisfaction might depend on what you're looking for. If you want every single character's future neatly wrapped up in a final book, you might be a bit disappointed. But if you're content with seeing the world expand and get periodic check-ins with old favorites in new books, it feels very complete in its own way. I liked seeing how the original couples from, say, 'Changing the Game' were doing as established parents and professionals. It ends on a note that feels like the door is still open for more stories, which I appreciate because it mirrors how life keeps going. The final book I read, 'Rules of Contact', gave a nice sense of continuity rather than a hard stop.
