What Are The Best Adult Comic Websites?

'MyReadingManga' is one of those well-established sites for a reason - a massive library of translated manga, lots of BL/yaoi. It’s actually kind of cozy in there, like recommending books to someone. And on the other end of the spectrum, 'HentaiFoundry' is more hardcore with an emphasis on original content - all raw and unfiltered, which is nice every now and then to read something so unaffected.

Some websites are better than others when it comes to adult content, and there are a few which really stand out from the crowd. I have already mentioned Webtoon, and while it doesn’t have an adult section, the mature stories that do appear are amazing, and there is some real hidden talent on show. There’s also GlobalComix, a relatively small site that’s full of great, Western-style comics – including the free work of many indie creators who aren’t afraid to explore more mature themes. On these kinds of sites, there’s a delicate balance between making things easy to read and making sure that the creators are treated with the respect that their work deserves.

Independent corners of the internet are cultivating pure, unfiltered creativity. Websites within the broader games scene, such as Itch.io, host a flood of extremely odd, beautiful and innovative comics. Typically offered for low prices, without Digital Rights Management and directly to the creator, these publications offer entirely unique reading experiences. While they may not be ‘polished’ enough to be ‘published’ through more mainstream channels, the output is often deeply personal and wonderfully innovative. For the adventurous reader, websites that host such comics on a digital marketplace are akin to zine fairs from around the globe.
