I always notice how adaptations play with light when showing Cair Paravel. The BBC version from the late 80s had this very studio-bound, almost stage-play feel—the castle was grand in scale with those huge, iconic thrones, but the lighting was flat and the seaside backdrop looked like a painted curtain.
