Is Damion'S Rib Haven Worth Reading For Emotional Depth?

It’s more like the whole place—the restaurant itself—is a character that forces people to slow down and deal with their crap. Like, you can't be in a rush in a rib joint; you get sauce on your fingers, you have to talk to the person across from you. Damion’s not a therapist, he’s just a guy who makes food and listens, and that indirectness is where the real healing happens. People fix themselves by being in a space that accepts them, messy ribs and all. My favorite bit was how the physical act of eating—getting your hands dirty, sharing a platter—became this metaphor for engaging with life again. The characters who were the most broken started by just showing up, then maybe cleaning a table, then finally talking. It felt earned, not rushed.
