Honestly, just use Libby. It’s free, it’s legal, and the audio quality is fine. I get the impulse to 'collect' an audiobook forever, but for a single listen? Why spend money? If your local library's digital selection is weak, see if you can get a non-resident card from a bigger city library for a small annual fee. Brooklyn Public Library used to offer one.
Otherwise, set up a price alert on sites like ereaderiq for the Kindle version. Buying that cheap ebook often unlocks a massively discounted audiobook add-on. That combo deal is the only time I’ll buy an audiobook outright anymore.

Trying to hunt down audiobook deals is practically its own hobby at this point. For 'The Book Thief,' I've had the best luck checking Chirp's daily emails; they had the full Marcus Zusak narration for like $5 a few months back. The Libby app through your public library is always the first stop, though—totally free if you're willing to wait a few weeks on the hold list. My mom's old library card in a smaller county actually gets it faster than mine in the city.
Audible credits are a decent value if you listen a ton, but you're locked into their ecosystem. Sometimes I'll grab a cheap Kindle edition on Amazon, and the 'Add Audible Narration' option drops the price of the audiobook way down, sometimes under ten bucks. It's weirdly inconsistent, though.

Don’t sleep on Libro.fm either. They support indie bookstores and run good sales. I picked up 'The Book Thief' there during a summer sale. It’s often priced competitively with Audible, and you’re not giving Amazon more data. Their app is just okay, but it gets the job done.

The dragons and royals are at war. Dragons have power and the royals want it to cement their rule in their kingdoms. Rather than creating a bond between the two, the royals have been stealing dragon eggs, hoping they will bond with the dragon once it hatches, allowing the royal to become a dragon rider. However, there is a thief among them, someone who is stealing the dragon eggs and returning them to the dragons. Someone who, when found, will be put to death.
Princess Skylar is the daughter of King Augustus. Her father has been hunting dragon eggs for years. Unbeknownst to him, Skylar is the thief that he is searching for. She does not agree with stealing dragon eggs from the mothers who make their nests away from the other dragons, making themselves vulnerable to attack. Her betrothed, Prince Kenneth, also supports stealing dragon eggs in the hope of bonding with a dragon and making his kingdom stronger.
Ryuki is a dragon rider. He bonded with his dragon, Bynjym, a year ago when he stumbled across him in the wild. The bond between dragon and rider is sacred. Ryuki and other dragon riders believe that it should never be forced. The riders fight against the royals who steal dragon eggs, working to keep them from being able to access the eggs, or fighting to get the eggs back to their dragon mothers.
What will happen when Ryuki realizes that Skylar is a royal like no other? Can Skylar keep her secret from her father, continuing to work inside the palace to take the stolen eggs back to their mothers? What will happen when Skylar realizes that her feelings for Ryuki are much stronger than her feelings for Prince Kenneth? Find out in The Dragon Thief.

“You,” Hades snarled, his eyes burning into Claudine’s, “are a viper in my bed. A ticking time bomb.”
Claudine’s lips curved into a chillingly beautiful smile. “Darling, in your bed, I’m whatever you desire.”

This isn’t your typical enemies-to-lovers romance. This is the story of the infamous daughter of the worlds greatest russian Kalashnikov Omerta,a woman driven by vengeance, who wanted the downfall of Hades Vancouver, the dangerous American mafia leader. Death was too merciful a punishment for the man who murdered her parents. But in a twist of fate, she’s caught in his grip and forced into marriage with him—the very man she swore to destroy.
To Hades, she’s not simply his wife. She’s a snake he’s obsessed with, a woman he wants to bend to his will and claim in every way imaginable. Her true identity is hidden from him, but he’s been obsessed since the first night he fingered her into a screaming, squirt-filled orgasm that felt like a soul-shifting experience. The same night she stole from him.
Now, trapped in a deadly game of forced proximity, where desire is both a weapon and a weakness, one wrong move could ignite a war that consumes them all. But when Hades discovers the tracker in her old gunshot wound, a relic of a past encounter, the game changes.

"You kill so wonderfully well, little Raven," he murmured, his voice incredibly smooth, "but you did a terrible job hiding yourself. That beautiful scent of yours... wood, jasmine, and blood. It's unmistakable."
Thirteen years ago, ten-year-old Romy Hawthorne hid in the vineyard and watched the Supreme Alpha, Rowan Ashwing-Kael Vexley, pull a bloodied blade from her sister’s chest as her home burned.
Now, Romy is "Viper"—a lethal, wolf-less assassin.
When a twenty-million-dollar bounty drops on the man known as the Beast of Flames, she eagerly takes the job. Her mission: infiltrate his territory, plunge a silver knife into his heart, and avenge her family.
But her target is a dangerously powerful Fire Lord who has spent the last decade hunting the real syndicate that murdered his fiancée. When Romy breaks into his stronghold, he doesn't find a victim, he finds the surviving little sister of the woman he lost.
And to their absolute horror, she is his fated mate.
Bound by an agonizing supernatural tether where every ounce of physical pain she inflicts on him is violently mirrored in her own body, Romy is completely trapped. Or will she surrender to the intoxicating fire of the Alpha who would burn the world down to keep her safe?

I have no problem with secrets. It's keeping my temper in check that's turned out to be challenging…
How many people can say they made the biggest mistake of their life at twelve years old?
I can.
I killed my wolf before I even had a chance to shift for the first time, let alone meet my fated mate.
To get her back, I'll do anything, including the one thing that's forbidden to werewolves. I'm not proud of it, but my pack doesn't need to know.
Not unless that jerk opens his mouth...
*TYCE*
I just wanted a wish granted. Let's leave it at that.
As an alpha, I never expected to be accused of getting dirty with chipmunks and having my manhood called into question. But I guess that's where we're at.
Gigi is equal parts gorgeous and infuriating.
I already have enough problems on my plate, and resisting her is going to be the biggest one...

Exiled from Faerie. Hunted by her own. Torn between fate and freedom.
Lena tried to kill her royal fiance and she would’ve succeeded, if not for the magic that branded her a traitor and cast her out of Faerie. Now banished to Earth, she hides in plain sight as a healer at a quiet supernatural clinic, determined to live a low-profile, no-romance life.
But when the local wolf pack starts circling, and one rugged, maddeningly patient shifter makes her magic sing, Lena’s vow to stay detached begins to fray.
Then she’s taken.
Kidnapped by a shadowy organization bent on hybridizing the supernatural factions, Lena is forced to heal their tortured test subjects to keep them alive. One of them, blood tainted and power-warped, calls to her magic just as deeply as the wolf did. And he’s not alone either. His brother, bound to the resistance and searching for his missing twin, shares that same impossible pull.
Three mates. One fractured destiny.
With enemies on all sides; an unrelenting Order, a Fae court that wants her silenced, and a ticking clock on the lives of those she's sworn to protect; Lena must decide: hide, run... or become the weapon no one saw coming.
I was hunting for a deal on the 'The Expectant Father' audiobook myself a few months ago. A lot of people automatically go straight to Audible, and yeah, using a credit gets it for you, but if you're looking to pay less, I'd recommend checking Libby or Hoopla first if you have a library card. It's free, though you might have to wait.
What worked for me was actually Google Play Books. They had a promo that wasn't really advertised, just a lower price than the others for a weekend. Kindle Unlimited sometimes bundles audiobooks with their subscription too, but that's hit or miss. It's worth setting a price alert on sites like Chirp if you're not in a hurry.
Bouncing around the internet, I’ve stumbled across some fantastic spots to dive into 'The Book Thief'. First off, if you’re into eBook formats, platforms like Kindle and Apple Books have it available for purchase, and it’s a breeze to read on any device. Especially on Kindle, you can often find the paperback and even feel the weight of the words on the pages! That tactile experience adds a whole new dimension to the story, doesn’t it?
For those looking to engage with a community, sites like Goodreads offer a treasure trove of reviews and discussions. It’s cool to see others’ interpretations and favorite quotes come alive! You can also share your thoughts after reading, connecting with fellow book lovers. Additionally, your local libraries could provide access to digital platforms such as OverDrive or Libby. That way, you can borrow 'The Book Thief' digitally without spending a dime. Just imagining all those words surrounding me again gets me excited!
Lastly, if you’re a fan of audiobooks, checkout Audible. Listening to 'The Book Thief' can be a whole different experience, especially with the right narrator who brings Liesel’s story to life in such an engaging manner. Explore these avenues, and you're sure to find the book in a way that suits your personal vibe!
