In the Fourth Great Ninja War, the village's knuckleheaded ninja, Naruto Uzumaki, formed ties with Kurama. In 'Naruto: Shippuden' episode 329 titled 'Two-Man Team,' he turns on his first and greatest Fox, aka The Nine-Tails, to become an ally and friend.
After having a deep talk with his father Minato, Naruto decides that he should at least show some appreciation for the power Kurama gave him. There is change of heart towards both Ninetailed Foxes after all: those two are indeed close friends now!

As a die-hard fan of 'Naruto', I share your pain and curiosity regarding Kurama's fate. We last saw Kurama in chapter 55 of 'Boruto: Naruto Next Generations'. Unfortunately, the nine-tails fox sacrificed himself in the crucial battle causing severe heartbreak for Naruto and fans alike.
Despite our wishful thinking, it seems unlikely Kurama would return. However, the series is known for its twists and turns so who knows what might happen next!

I remember the impact made by Kurama, the demon fox whom Naruto so loved, sacrificing himself. His omission has left a large gap in the series. Nevertheless, it is quite possible that one day some fluke or miracle produced from the inside. He is likely to make the return.

In 'Naruto I am the Tsuchikage', Kurama, the Nine-Tails, doesn’t take center stage like in the original series. The story shifts focus to the Earth Village’s politics and the Tsuchikage’s rise, leaving little room for tailed beasts. Kurama might get a passing mention or a nod from fanservice scenes, but it’s not a key player. The narrative thrives on original jutsu and geopolitical intrigue, not Bijuu rampages. If you’re here for Kurama drama, this spin-off might disappoint—it’s more about clay-style ninjutsu and village-building.
That said, the absence of Kurama lets other elements shine. The Tsuchikage’s unique abilities, like manipulating rock and lava, get detailed attention. The story explores how Earth Village ninjas handle threats without relying on tailed beasts, offering a fresh take on power dynamics. While Kurama’s absence might feel odd, it makes room for inventive battles and deeper dives into lesser-known clans. The trade-off works if you crave something different from the usual Naruto formula.

As an ardent fan of 'Naruto', I can tell you that our protagonist, Naruto Uzumaki, is not just strong because of Kurama. The nine-tailed beast increased his power, definitely, providing a massive audio of chakra and enabling higher level transformations, but Naruto's strength isn't just raw power.
He excels in tactics, possesses incredible willpower which leads him to never give up and continually improve. He has mastered various jutsus like Rasengan, Shadow Clone, and even learned Sage Mode from the toads of Mount Myōboku. Tightening down onto his natural energy he became a toad sage.
So yeah, without Kurama, Naruto is still one the strongest ninjas around!

In 'Naruto: Shippuden', Naruto starts to form a bond with Kurama during episode 324. It's a turning point where they begin to understand each other. It's such a powerful moment; finally seeing Naruto not just as a host but as a friend, a connection that grows throughout the series. I loved watching this part unfold!
