How Long Is The Land Of Stories Audiobook And Who Narrates It?
My kid wants to listen to this children's fantasy series on Audible with me, but I can't find the total length or audiobook narrator details anywhere. A chapter-by-chapter time breakdown would help for planning our listening sessions.

8h 15m, Chris Colfer. That's the technical answer. On a personal level, I think the audiobook format adds a new dimension to the story. Colfer's narration is like having the author right there telling you a bedtime story. The length is non-intimidating, making it a great entry point into audiobooks for younger listeners.

Straight answer: 8h 15m, Chris Colfer. Now, my opinion: I loved it. Hearing the author tell his own story feels like a bonus feature. The runtime is manageable. I listened over a few days during my workout, and it made the treadmill less boring. It's a feel-good listen.

8 hours, 15 minutes. Narrated by Chris Colfer. I have a soft spot for author-narrated books, and this one doesn't disappoint. Colfer isn't a voice actor, but he's a performer, and it shows. The length is ideal—you can actually finish it in a reasonable amount of time without feeling like you're in a marathon.

8 hours 15 minutes. Chris Colfer. That's the factual answer. But let me tell you, as a narrator, he's surprisingly good! You can tell he's invested in the characters. The pacing of the audio is steady, not rushed. I enjoyed it more than I expected to. If you're an audiobook veteran, you might find it a bit simple compared to full-cast productions, but it's a charming listen.

Huh, I actually never got around to listening to the audiobook. I read the physical books years ago. Is the audio version worth it for someone who already knows the story? I'm curious if Colfer adds any little asides or if it's a straight read. Might check it out if the library has it.

She had no idea how long she had been sleeping for but she woke up to the sound of someone sniffing. She was drowsy so she paid not much attention to it but then it continued, then she heard the voice again, “Lavender, you use lavender for your hair. How have I never sniffed your hair before?", the sniffing continued.
The sound reverberated through the caves, whilst she felt the vibrations on his chest where she lay, but she did not need that to know whose voice it belonged to. It was deep but not hoarse, somehow it was powerful and soothing at the same time, it was the voice of a god, one that had spoken to her all of these months, one she had replayed over again in her head till it was ingrained in her memory.
“Dragomir…”, she whispered in a teary voice, she proceeded to stand up but he held on to a part of her hair and was sniffing it.
When he noticed her staring at him, he stopped and stared back at her as if she had just caught him trying to steal from the cookie jar.
“Was that creepy?”, he asked.

I love a good spreadsheet, so I made a quick pros/cons list when I was deciding. Cost: Library apps win. Instant Access: Audible/Apple/Google win. Sound Quality: Usually tied among major sellers. Long-term Access: Purchase wins over subscription/loan. Supporting Creators: Purchase or library (libraries pay for licenses). I weighted ‘Instant Access’ and ‘Long-term Access’ highest because I re-listen to favorites. That led me to purchase on Audible. Your weighting might be different. Maybe ‘Cost’ is your top factor. Break it down for yourself. It helps cut through the noise of having too many good choices.
I feel like the audiobook medium is perfect for this series. It feels like being read a bedtime story. The library question is tough because it's so regional. A quick Google search for '[Your County] Library OverDrive' should get you to the right portal to search directly.
Sometimes smaller libraries belong to a bigger network. For example, my tiny town library gives me access to the whole county's digital catalog, which is massive. So even if your local branch is small, the digital network behind it might be robust.
