Can Pokemon X Pokedex Show Pokémon Locations And Spawns?

It won’t show exact spawn locations on a map or give you the percentages for each encounter. For that level of detail you need community resources like 'Serebii' or 'Bulbapedia', or to rely on in-game tricks: Friend Safari helps you target certain species and hidden abilities, and different rods or time-of-day will change fishing and wild encounter lists.

If you’re casually filling the Dex, the in-game info is usually enough. If you’re hunting a perfect IV or a rare version-exclusive, be prepared to consult external guides and use specific chaining or encounter methods. Personally, I mix both — start with the Pokédex, then go online when I want the deep dive. Which Pokémon are you trying to find?

There are also playstyle tricks inside the game that the Pokédex won’t explicitly tell you about: Friend Safari in Gen VI gives very predictable lists based on your friends, and while the Pokédex notes Friend Safari Pokémon exist, it doesn’t lay out who’s in which friend slot. Other Gen VI titles like 'Omega Ruby' and 'Alpha Sapphire' introduced tools (the DexNav, for instance) that give more targeted tracking options; sadly, those conveniences aren’t built into the 'Pokémon X' Pokédex itself.

So, can it show locations and spawns? Kind of — it shows where to look and how to encounter (land, surf, fish, etc.), but it doesn’t give live spawn maps or exact odds. If I’m hunting something specific now, I’ll check the in-game Pokédex for a starting area, then pull up a web guide for the encounter table, and finally use in-game methods (Repels, time-of-day swaps, or visiting a Friend Safari) to tilt RNG in my favor.
