Royal Road's search function is your friend here. I'm pretty sure I saw a decently-rated fan translation pop up there a while back. The tags for reincarnation and comedy should help narrow it down.

Honestly, I prefer prose novels to comics. I like the interiority. It's a bummer the novel text isn't commercially available. I'd pay for a well-translated ebook version in a heartbeat. The comic is great, but I imagine the novel has even more of the hamster's funny internal commentary.

The humor is very culturally specific. Some of the jokes in the fan translation have translator's notes, which I actually appreciate. It helps understand why certain situations are funny.

The duke's character development is surprisingly nuanced. It's not just 'cold man melts because cute pet.' He's intelligent and observant, so his growing suspicion and protectiveness feel earned. The comic does a good job showing his perspective shifts through subtle expressions. You can find it on Manta by searching the male lead's name, which I think is Kael or something similar.

Honestly, just google 'Northern Duke Hamster Manta' and the first link should take you right there. The SEO on that is pretty strong. Their marketing team knew what they had with that title.

Dreg watched as she walked over to the fireplace to get warmth. “You cower away from my presence, tell me Ilena do you not want this marriage?”
“It is my duty as a princess of Thane to serve as your tribute.” She stated softly.
It was an answer but not the answer that Dreg was expecting. Her statement only meant that she was willing to be married to him just to fulfil her duty as a tribute and that irks him.
He raised her chin up to face him. “Then don’t cower away from my touch, you are my wife now not the princess of Thanes.”

After offending the author, a shamelessly narcissistic woman transmigrates into a book and faces the most cliched characters ever.
Did she transmigrate into the main character? a side character? A villain? She wasn't that lucky. Being a nameless background character, she's supposed to stop the emperor from getting married to the evil ex-fiance and wage the war? As if the emperor knew anything else other than people! Can she find a way to tame the emperor and give a happy ending to all the characters?
Heck yeah! She has too much to lose if she doesn't succeed.
However, she has no idea about the secrets of the book that will change her life even after she returns to her world.
After returning to her world, Savina only wants to find a job or a rich husband to smooch. But it seems impossible to find a good marriage partner or a good-paying job during the pandemic. The stress is giving her pimples and she has no interest in talking to opinionated animals who have their own views about humans.
Can she find a job or a rich husband and live happily ever after?
The next day I woke up, I am now the fiance of the Duke of Dubois Castle, or known as Lemon.
“I am a demon who lives by desire and greed, you have yielded with the contract that you have exchanged with your life?”
“Then what do you want?”
“I want the whole of you Veta Le Blanchet, not just your blood, heart and soul, it is the whole of you.”
Theroux Claude, the third prince of the kingdom.
“Lady Le Blanchet, just how can you stand still this demon duke? If you ever get tired of him, you are always welcome to my palace.”
Another troublesome man, my childhood friend when I was at the academy, Durand Gagnon.
“I have attained this nickname not just because I follow all his Majesty’s order, but because I want to have a stronghold in the knight position so that I can support you my Lady, remember that my oath is only for you.”
Then, what is my cousin thinking that he would say such things?
“Sister, I have finally inherited the title of the Baron, please come back to our fief, and I will make sure to bring back the glory of our family!”
As I try to relinquish the past, the more troublesome it becomes. Is clinging to the tiny bit of my life a wrong choice? And why is the temple spying on me?
“Lady Le Blanchet is the only descendant of the family, you shouldn’t involve yourself farther with the Demon Duke.”
“It’s done my Lady, as long as it is you, I can give everything, even if I destroy this Kingdom.”
Hold on, just what on earth this demon wants from me?
At its core, it's a story about trust. She has to trust him not to harm her if her secret comes out. He learns to trust the world again through the simple, unconditional loyalty of his 'pet.' The plot's conflicts are breaches of that trust from outside forces—betrayals by courtiers, attacks from enemies—that force them to rely on each other more deeply. Their strange relationship becomes a sanctuary of mutual trust in a treacherous environment. Every act of protection, every shared quiet moment, is a brick in that sanctuary.
Not a series. I've seen some people ask if there's a novel about their kids or something, but nope. The story is solely about the duke and the female lead navigating the curse. The ending provides a clear 'ever after,' so there's no narrative room for a direct sequel.
One angle I don’t see discussed enough: the change in his sense of aesthetics and order. This man likely lived in a world of sharp lines, dark colors, and functional perfection. Hamsters are messy. They have fluff, they burrow, they scatter bedding, they hoard food in cute little cheeks. His acceptance, and even fondness, for this mess is a huge symbol.
His pristine desk might now have a little corner with a chew toy. His rigid daily schedule has a block for ‘playtime.’ His ordered, controlled life learns to make space for whimsy, unpredictability, and mild chaos. This acceptance of ‘soft mess’ into his ‘hard order’ is a microcosm of his entire emotional transformation. He’s not just tolerating chaos; he’s learning to find beauty and life in it.
It's a constant source of low-stakes conflict, which is vital for pacing. Not every problem can be a war or a coup. Did the hamster escape its cage? Is it refusing to eat a new brand of seeds? Has it hidden the Duke's important seal in its bedding hoard? These mini-crises create opportunities for character interaction, problem-solving, and humor without the weight of life-or-death stakes. They show the characters in a different light and build the daily rhythm of castle life. This makes the world feel lived-in and real. The hamster's importance is in providing these small, relatable dramas that balance the epic ones.
