When searching for a free novel online I approach it all as a game and each click is a gamble to see if I get a decent website or a site that has been infected with a virus. I managed to strike gold on my third search for a free novel online, FreeNovel.me was the site that I stumbled upon and it had a good ‘next chapter’ button and I was also able to alter the font size which was a luxury as some sites don’t have these facilities. The novel was great, it had the perfect mix of scheming and romance and slowly developed throughout. The male lead was obsessed and this was portrayed in a very creepy yet fascinating way. The site was so easy to read around that I actually was able to get into the story rather than reading and then searching for the next chapter.

Playing devil’s advocate here for a moment. For older titles or for fans in regions with limited access to a particular title, fans may seek out pirated copies of a title in order to participate in and enjoy a particular fandom. This is a complex issue of access. Ideally, publishers would negotiate better global licenses and set fair prices for their work.

Your local library might carry your favorite graphic novels, and even some webtoons. Increasingly, library digital services like Hoopla and Libby are offering up new titles in these formats, even on a current series like this. Again, unlikely to add current titles, but it doesn’t hurt to check. You can support authors in comics of all types by checking your local library’s digital offerings for free – all of which are purchased through normal library licensing channels. The chance of this title being added is slim, for now, but many more popular webtoons are being printed as comics and are great to look for in your local library. Growing your awareness of your local library’s offerings for graphic novels and webtoons of all kinds can change the way you think about consuming media in general – moving from instant gratification to planning in advance for the things you want to read, all while supporting your local library and saving your wallet in the process.

I've noticed that my friend is completely obsessed with this one book. In addition to reading it multiple times, she's also made fanart for the book and even written some fanfiction for it. To her, this book is just just masterful at developing romantic tension. She loves a slow burn, which this book delivers (albeit after a long, slow simmer of a lot of frustration on the part of the main characters). Every look, every gesture is deeply analyzed by her in terms of romantic feelings. I read this because of her hype for it, but I just didn't get it. I found both main characters sort of frustrating, but seeing her passion for it made me appreciate it in a different way. This book clearly taps into something very powerful for her, and I can see that. If you're the kind of reader who gets deeply involved in the emotions of the characters and the romantic payoff, then you'll probably like my friend. But if you're a more plot-driven reader, then this probably isn't your cup of tea.

It was fine I guess. Another rejected mate trope with extra steps. It's on most of the web novel sites. The revenge part was sort of cool, but after that it just kind of kept going on and on. The male lead's redemption arc just didn't feel earned to me. I read it on NovelCat because they had a promotion for free coins to use on the site. The site's interface is kind of clunky, but it worked. It's a sort of "meh" read - it was sort of good, I guess, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. There are just so many better written stories in this genre right now. If you're new to this genre, I'd recommend reading one of the more iconic ones to get a feel for it first. This one's pretty forgettable after you're done reading it. It's not going to change your life or anything.
It won't change your life or anything.

Are there other people out there feeling like we're drowning in a sea of web fiction apps, and each time someone new is suggested for reading a particular story, we just roll our eyes and say "Ugh, not another app for reading stories"... Webnovel, Radish, Kindle, AO3 are the four apps that I'm currently using for reading stories online, and I really don't want another app to be added to that list to consume even more of my battery and to send me even more notifications. I wish web fiction was more like it used to be and we could just go to a single website and read a particular story there. But as it is now, web fiction is pretty Balkanized. My answer to "Where can I read that?" is usually, "I don't know, and I'm not downloading another app to find out."
I'd just read something else on that platform. There's plenty of other content. Apps prey on the fear that you're missing out on a particular story, and sometimes you just have to let it go and discover something new in your existing library of content.

For the werewolf romance serial 'Alpha Nicholas's Little Mate', you would need to check the original platform on which it was licensed (the platform of the publisher who commissioned the work as a serial). For this type of work, you can only read it legally on the official site or app of the publisher who first put it out as a serial. While it’s a bit of a mystery to track down the serial, right now, in the mood for a possessive, fated-mate type story? ‘Alpha Nicholas’ is an intense protector type story with a central conflict concerning territory and a hidden bond between the two main characters. It’s available for standard subscription to read on the writer’s home platform.

Even the comment sections for the official chapters of a book on an app can be quite entertaining. Readers live-react, argue over the main characters’ love interests, and try to predict what will happen next. Because a book like this includes a love triangle (or more), the comment sections can become quite a battle. Of course, reading a book on an app like GoodNovel is a lot different from reading a static PDF or a fan-made blog. It makes reading less of a solitary activity and, for good or ill, more of a community experience.

I have seen so many memes about this book, I might just have to read it to see for myself what all the hype is about.

As for ‘Rejected the Alpha Queen’… I seem to recall a similar story by an author who publishes their work serialized on Dreame or GoodNovel (those are two apps that specialize in paranormal romance novels). You might want to check if the author has published anything else on Dreame or GoodNovel, or even look up their Patreon (a search for ‘Patreon + [author name]’ should lead you to any early drafts they’re sharing). I recall Royal Road’s forums mentioning a few werewolf plot recommendations, although most of those would likely be LitRPG.
