A Shade of Violet

A Shade of Violet

Violet Harris never imagined her life would become a headline. As the daughter of a prominent CEO, she’s used to the shadows, quietly juggling her dreams and a part-time job. But when her father arranges her marriage to Anthony Daniels, the enigmatic heir to the Daniels Group, her carefully curated world unravels. Anthony Daniels is everything Violet detests: privileged, cold, and a man who makes it clear that love has no place in their union. Yet as Violet steps reluctantly into his world of power and prestige, she begins to see cracks in his icy exterior. Small moments of vulnerability hint at something deeper, leaving her torn between resentment and curiosity. Their uneasy alliance takes a turn when long-buried secrets emerge, revealing the true motives behind their marriage. Betrayed by those she trusted most, Violet must decide whether to walk away from Anthony or confront the growing feelings she’s desperate to ignore. As power, pride, and passion collide, Violet and Anthony discover that the strongest bonds are forged in the unlikeliest of places. Will they rise above the sins of their families, or will their love remain a fleeting shade of what could have been? A Shade of Violet is a sweeping tale of heartbreak, redemption, and love blooming in the face of adversity.

Diary of a Vampire: Michele

Diary of a Vampire: Michele

Violet eyes with piercing sight. Mane of gold in pale moonlight. Skin so hard and lily white. Voice so soft, yet filled with might. He comes to me in the dark of night. Flash of teeth, smile so slight. There is no fear, no need to fight. In his embrace, I crave his bite. -S.R. Michele, or Shelly to those closest to her, is a typical 21 yr old, trying to find her way in life. She has good family, a close circle of friends. She's outgoing and friendly, and a bit reckless and impulsive sometimes. And she has certain gifts...when she touches things, she can see into the past, she can feel what was felt by others, and she can sense things before they happen. Ok, so maybe she's not so typical. An impromptu trip to New Orleans, a party on Bourbon Street, and an attempted assault in a dark alley lead her into a world she didn't know existed...but one she's not afraid of. She doesn't know if the violet-eyed stranger that comes to her rescue, and follows her home, is a friend or a foe - and honestly, she doesn't care. Once you've had a taste of the darkness, it's hard to pull away... **** This book was written in the late 1990's - early 2000's, and originally published in 2004, under the title: Diary of a Vampire by S.M. Royston. It was my first book, and it wasn't long until I came to hate it! (Please, don't look it up - I promise you, it's terrible) So here we are, years later, and I've decided to throw out my original work, and re-write it. Because I'm the author, and I can do that. The story, characters, and settings are the same - but the writing style is different, and in my opinion, much, much better. I hope you enjoy it. ****

Tale of Two Lives

Tale of Two Lives

When I was reborn, Horace was pressing me down on the bed. His phone rang with a piercing ringtone, interrupting him from undressing me. After seeing the caller ID, the desire in his eyes instantly disappeared. Throwing a random bath towel on my body, he said, "Leave. My new girlfriend doesn't like it when I smell like someone else." Without another word, I got dressed and left without any complaint. In my past life, I wasn't willing to leave, and clung onto him, throwing away all my dignity, and I even became crippled after saving him during a car accident. As I wished, I became his wife, only because he said, "Let's have a baby. Then, even if I was no longer around, our child would be able to take care of you." I endured several life-threatening medical crises during my pregnancy, but then I overheard him talking to Vivian, "Vivi, you'll be saved once the kid is born." "But that's you and Rose's child, isn't it? Wouldn't she get mad if she knew?" Horace's voice was ice-cold. "I only let her live because she could still give birth. Did she think that I'd fall for a cripple?" In my anger, I pulled out my oxygen tube, and both I and my baby died. Now that I was reborn, I would never walk the same path once more.

Who wrote Violette Szabo: The Life That I Have?

The book 'Violette Szabo: The Life That I Have' was penned by Susan Ottaway, who meticulously chronicled the incredible story of Violette Szabo, a WWII British spy and SOE agent. Ottaway's research is thorough, blending historical records with personal accounts to paint a vivid picture of Szabo's bravery. I stumbled upon this biography while browsing war histories, and it struck me how Ottaway balances factual rigor with emotional depth—almost like reading a thriller but with the weight of real sacrifice.

What I love about Ottaway's approach is how she avoids glorifying war. Instead, she focuses on Szabo's humanity—her fears, her love for her daughter, and her quiet determination. It’s not just a spy story; it’s a deeply personal narrative. If you’re into wartime biographies or strong female figures, this one’s a gem. The title itself comes from Leo Marks’ poem, which adds another layer of poignancy.

Where can I read Violette Szabo: The Life That I Have online?

Finding 'Violette Szabo: The Life That I Have' online can be tricky since it's a lesser-known biography, but I’ve dug around for options! Your best bet is checking digital libraries like Open Library or Project Gutenberg—sometimes older biographies pop up there. If you’re lucky, you might find a scanned PDF floating around academic sites, but it’s hit or miss.

For a more reliable route, used bookstores with online catalogs (like AbeBooks) often have affordable copies, and sometimes they offer digital versions. I’d also recommend searching WorldCat to see if a local library has it for loan. It’s one of those books where persistence pays off—I ended up finding my copy through a niche WWII history forum’s recommendation!

Can I download Violette Szabo: The Life That I Have for free?

Man, I totally get the urge to hunt down free copies of books, especially biographies like 'Violette Szabo: The Life That I Have'—it's such an incredible story about a real-life WWII heroine! But here's the thing: while you might stumble across shady sites offering illegal downloads, I'd strongly recommend supporting the author and publishers by getting it through legit channels. Libraries often have free ebook loans via apps like Libby, or you can find used copies for dirt cheap online. The book's so worth paying for though—Szabo's courage as a SOE agent deserves proper recognition, and reading about her secret missions feels like uncovering hidden history.

If you're really strapped for cash, keep an eye out for anniversary sales on Kindle or BookBub alerts. Sometimes publishers temporarily drop prices on wartime biographies. I snagged my copy during a Remembrance Day promotion. What stuck with me most was how the book balances her personal letters with gritty operational details—it's not just history, it's a deeply human story. Totally changed how I view ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances.
